Meghan Markle is undoubtedly a former royal who has faced her fair share of judgment and criticism. However, one of the last times she brought it up, she faced a whole lot of backlash.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex recently completed their controversial, unofficial ‘royal’ trip to Australia, where they made several public appearances at summits, hospitals, charities, and more. At one point, while speaking to young adults and teenagers at a mental health charity, Meghan noted all the online hate and criticism she’s received over the years, eventually calling herself “the most trolled person in the world.” Though it seemed she was trying to relate to the young crowd, social media users labeled the moment as “narcissistic” and “tone deaf.” Read more about the situation below.

Meghan Markle Calls Herself The 'Most Trolled Person In The World' While Visiting A Mental Health Center

Over the last two weeks, regarding the royal family, social media users haven't been able to stop talking about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Australia trip.

As soon as people caught wind of their "private" trip, they were quickly met with backlash, and some Australian residents even set up a petition to demand that no taxpayer money be spent on their security or other accommodations during their time in the country. Despite the noise, they went anyway and carried out their trip as if they were a working royal visit, talking to people at various organizations and more.

On April 16th, the parents of two stopped by Swinburne University to visit 'batyr,' a mental health charity for young people with a mission to encourage teens to reach out for help and end stigma surrounding mental health issues. At one point, the Suits alum sat down to talk with young people who were associated with the group, when she opened up about her own mental health struggles, which took a turn while she was "bullied and attacked" since first associating herself with the royal family.

"For now, 10 years, every day for 10 years, I have been bullied and attacked," she said, as reported by People. "And I was the most trolled person in the entire world. Now, I'm still here. And when I think of all of you and what you're experiencing, I think so much of that is having to realize that you know that industry, that billion-dollar industry, that is completely anchored and predicated on cruelty to get clicks - that's not going to change. So you have to be stronger than that."

Social Media Users Slam Meghan As 'Narcissistic' After Hearing Her Comments

After the As Ever founder's comments on bullying and her mental health were released by reporters, they didn't quite receive the response she might've been expecting. On social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and more, users began slamming Meghan, as they found that her conversation with the teenagers ended up being all about herself, and instead of inspiring, her talk with them gave off more self-centered vibes.

"The pity me tour continues!" commented a user on Instagram.

"Meghan isn't the most trolled," responded a Facebook user. "In fact, most of us ignore her. She's just an actress pretending to care. That's very tone-deaf of her."

"Again and again [it's all] about herself and playing a forever victim," added an Instagram user.

"Wow, so out of touch," wrote another.

We'll be curious to see if the Duchess decides to defend her talk with the teenagers or simply let the internet's response prove her point. Still, it seems that there are hundreds of people who aren't buying what she had to say that day.
