Ohio governor candidate Amy Acton is being compared to former Vice President Kamala Harris after footage of her latest campaign appearance went viral. Amy Acton Struggles During Campaign Speech
Acton appeared alongside Democratic Senate candidate Sherrod Brown and other Ohio Democrats at a rally held at UAW Local 12, where candidates were making a final push ahead of Election Day. In one clip, Acton begins addressing the crowd before seemingly losing her train of thought while referencing the words displayed behind her onstage. “It’s about truth and justice. I just wrote on the words back here. That is. I’m honored to be here!” she says, pausing and repeating herself before moving on.
In another clip from the same event, Acton appears to mix up her words while criticizing Ramaswamy’s use of private aircraft during his campaign. Attempting to contrast her own campaign’s use of a Jeep with her opponent’s private jet, she says, “Not in a big Jeep flying over like Ohio’s a fly—I mean in a big jet. He’s flying in a Jeep.” The clips have since fueled comparisons to Harris, as the former VP has been the target of years of mockery over her speeches, with opponents frequently labeling her remarks “word salad.”
