Taylor Swift Releases Behind-The-Scenes Footage For 'Opalite'

Last weekend, the Eras Tour star surprised all of her fans with a music video for her hit song, "Opalite" from her latest album, Life of a Showgirl.

The video was extra entertaining for fans with a star-studded cast, which included Domhnall Gleeson, Graham Norton, Greta Lee, and more, who were all interviewed with her a few months ago on The Graham Norton Show. In the 90s-coded video, Taylor can be seen sporting a dark brown long bob hairstyle and running around a mall with the About Time actor, taking part in fun activities.

Now, she's released some behind-the-scenes footage of the rehearsal for and shooting of the music video on Spotify, Apple Music, and other streaming platforms. In some clips, as this one posted to TikTok, she can be seen checking out her new dark wig in a dressing room, meeting with choreographers, interacting with the cast, and more, which had her fans super excited.

In the comments section of her preview on TikTok, fans wrote that they were "losing it," and that they thought "Opalite" should be the "video of the year."

"Yes, behind the scenes!" added another. "Thank you, mother!"

Fans React To Taylor's New Clips Amid Streaming Service Backlash

As excited as most of her fans were about the surprise drop of the "Opalite" video, some were very upset, and many internet users called the singer "greedy" as she did not make the video available to the public on YouTube right away, but instead, released it exclusively for Spotify, Apple Music, and other streaming platform subscribers first.

Many music industry experts believe this could have been the case because it was recently revealed that YouTube views and streams no longer count towards the Billboard Top 100 chart. Now, she's doing the same with the special extended, behind-the-scenes footage for the music video.

"Oh wow, no mention of YouTube," wrote an X user. "I'm not surprised. Doubling down on caring more about a billboard spot than your YouTube fans is just sad. Just sucks to see her doubling down on a lame decision."

"When will this be available on YouTube?" asked another.

It's highly likely that the new clips from the "Opalite" video will be shared on YouTube, but for now, there are still a number of fans out there who are quite disappointed to see that she's made such an exclusive release yet again.
