Kim Kardashian is facing backlash after shoppers got a look inside SKIMS’ highly anticipated $148 advent calendar, with many questioning whether its contents justify the hefty price tag. SKIMS $150 Advent Calendar
The SKIMS Accessories Advent Calendar was unveiled on Wednesday, October 29, as part of the brand’s holiday collection, retailing for $148. The 12-day countdown was marketed as a collection of festive surprises, however, after customers began receiving their purchases and posting unboxing videos on social media, the contents quickly became a source of controversy.
The unboxing videos also revealed that the presentation left plenty to be desired. Rather than arriving in carefully packaged boxes or individual gift bags, many of the items were simply wrapped in tissue paper and tucked into the calendar’s compartments. Among the revealed products were basic hair ties, satin scrunchies, bobby pins, hair clips, keychains, and a SKIMS-branded squishy toy. Beyond the underwhelming presentation, the collection of small accessories appeared to fall far short of the $148 price tag, with many of the items having little to do with SKIMS’ signature shapewear, underwear, and loungewear offerings.

Social Media Reactions
Across social media platforms, users were not afraid to call out the SKIMS founder for the apparent lack of effort put into the advent calendar. "They think of us like the bugs under their shoes," one person wrote. "This is pure junk. I have never and will never give that family a dime."
"A billionaire! Giving y'all trash for $150," wrote another user. "It doesn't get more out of touch than this."
"Mind you skims is not even a hair care brand," another pointed out.
"Honestly kinda evil of her," wrote another.
"The name needs to be changed to SKAMS," joked another.
"You could get this at 5 below for $2," said the next.
"Oh no the evil rich lady got greedy again," wrote another person. "Idk why y'all are surprised."
"File a fraud complaint with your bank account because this is garbage," a final user suggested.
