Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt got married 25 years ago in the summer of 2000—can you believe how time has flown? Just the same, their divorce was a little over 20 years ago, and since then, neither party has really mentioned their relationship. The stray comment here and there, but mostly, mum’s the word. Recently, though, in her cover story for the September issue of Vanity Fair, Aniston opened about that time in her life and what it was like for her. Keep reading for more information.

Jennifer Aniston Speaks On Her Divorce
Along with a set of stunning photos of the star (how is she 56?!), Aniston told her story in an article titled, "Zen and the Art of Being Jennifer Aniston." Among other things, she made rare comments about her divorce from Brad Pitt, when talking about the last time she appeared on the cover of Vanity Fair. In an issue titled, "The Unsinkable Jennifer Aniston," the "Friends" star gave her first interview following her divorce from Brad Pitt.
"I haven't looked at that article in forever," Aniston said of the issue. "I just remember the experience of doing it—which was kind of jarring. It was also such a vulnerable time. But yeah, that was one for the memoirs."
Jennifer calls that era of her life "the love triangle," and recalls being the subject of every tabloid magazine for months. "It was such juicy reading for people. If they didn’t have their soap operas, they had their tabloids. It’s a shame that it had to happen, but it happened. And boy did I take it personally."

Social Media Reactions
Aniston's rare reference to the Brad Pitt era of her life has made headlines, as fans react to the relationship many think of as the one that got away. "It was his huge loss," one person said in a comment on Instagram.
"Brad messed up," another person said. "Never will understand how he could cheat on Jennifer! His big time loss!"
"Imagine fumbling the bag so hard you let go of Jennifer Aniston in her prime," another user wrote, though we would argue that Jennifer Aniston is still in her prime.
"So...does this mean we're getting a memoir?" another person asked—we certainly hope so!
