President Donald Trump Posts A Video To Truth Social That Depicts Barack & Michelle Obama As Apes

Last week, a post hit Truth Social, the social media platform launched by the 79-year-old, that had the entire world talking about it. It was an A.I.-generated video that depicted Barack and Michelle Obama as monkeys, and other Democratic figures and politicians as wild animals, as "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" played in the background.

The video was seemingly supposed to emphasize claims of voter fraud in the 2020 election, but the main focus was on the racist stereotypes associated with the Obamas and their faces on the bodies of monkeys.

Despite it being taken down rather quickly, it didn't take long for both internet users, politicians, and media outlets to call out the president and shame him for sharing such an offensive video on his platform. Later, he claimed he did not watch the entire video before sharing it, and he has not apologized for it.

Social Media Users Accuse Trump Of Being 'Envious' Of Michelle Obama's Success Amid The 'Melania' Release

After the video was shared and the internet practically broke over it, many began to speculate as to why the president and his team would bother posting something so offensive, aside from his ongoing battles with Democratic politicians and leaders.

Many noted the timing of the video, and how it came out days following the theatrical release of Melania, the controversial documentary about the First Lady. Although the Apprentice star has been boasting about the film's alleged success, critics have been sounding off on the film, and it reportedly saw a 67% drop in ticket sales following its first week.

On the otherhand, the Netflix documentary based on Michelle ObamaBecoming, not only had a successful release in 2020, but according to entertainment outlets, had a resurgence of views this year. Therefore, numerous internet users believe this might have fueled Trump's fire.

"It is likely that Trump posted that AI video of the Obamas to distract from the Epstein files," wrote author Ibran X. Kendi on Facebook. "But it is just as likely that the Trump family, witnessing the Melania film flop, is deeply envious of the success of Michelle Obama's Becoming film."

"Of course," responded a Facebook user. "The Obamas are a class act, and the Trump family doesn't hold a candle to them."

"I agree," wrote another. "I just watched the Michele documentary, and she had such a warm [presence], she is so intelligent, so funny, and so absolutely radiating warmth that I'm sure there is tremendous jealousy from Trump right now."

"He is getting more and more desperate," commented a user.
