Donald Trump Booed At NBA Playoffs

With two wins already behind them, the New York Knicks were feeling good coming into game three on Monday night. However, Donald Trump must’ve brought some bad energy to the court, because the San Antonio Spurs got their first win in the series that night.

Many New Yorkers weren’t happy to see Trump at all, and audibly booed him every time his face was shown on camera during the game. Fans standing outside Madison Square Garden joined in, too, chanting, “New York hates you!” each time the camera panned to Trump.

Yet the president didn’t appear too bothered by the boos, in fact he didn’t seem to hear them. Speaking to reporters who brought up the topic after the game, Trump said, “It was, I think, mostly cheers. It was loud, and it was very enthusiastic. I thought it was amazing, actually.”

Social Media Reactions

Across social media platforms, users across the nation cheered on New Yorkers as they booed the president, leaving comments on X like, "I'm honestly so disappointed that this is how the USA is treating their president," one person wrote. "I know that the booing could've been way louder than that!"

"I booed from home!" another person wrote.

"He doesn't even know the difference between boos and cheers," another person pointed out, and the next agreed, "I knew he was going to convince himself they were cheers."

"The Knicks lost because he showed up," another user argued.

"I would've booed so hard I'd throw up but that's just me," another person wrote.

"New York understood the assignment!" a final fan wrote.
