Meghan Markle celebrated her 45th birthday on August 4th, and she made sure everyone knew about it by sharing pictures on her Instagram grid and posting videos to her Instagram Story.

The former Suits actress shared black and white photos of herself wearing a black swimsuit and jumping into the water with birthday balloons on her Instagram grid. She once again drew Princess Diana comparisons, as there is an iconic picture of the late Princess of Wales doing something very similar, albeit without the balloons. She also shared a video of herself dancing in her kitchen, with Prince Harry making some comments about it off camera. Keep reading to find out more…

Meghan Markle Shares Video Of Herself Dancing In Her Kitchen For Her 45th Birthday

In the video, the As Ever founder can be seen wearing white pajamas consisting of baggy pants and an oversized T-shirt reading, “It’s Giving Mrs.,” along with a birthday crown headband, which many people on social media were quick to comment on for obvious reasons.

The mom-of-two is barefoot and dancing around the kitchen, which has several helium balloons on the table, while the Spare author, who is seemingly the one filming, says off camera, “Oh dear.”

Fans got a little look inside the kitchen of the couple's Montecito, California home as Prince Harry panned the camera to film his wife dancing, which some viewers may appreciate as it isn't the one With Love, Meghan was filmed in. Not filming the Emmy-nominated Netflix series at their home – instead, choosing a neighboring property – was something critics previously took issue with, as they argued it made the show feel less authentic.

This isn't the first time the Duchess of Sussex has shown fans how she has celebrated her birthday, of course. Last year, she shared pictures from a private birthday dinner at Funke in Beverly Hills, California. She posted a picture of herself blowing out the candles on her birthday cake, which was decorated with yellow hibiscus flowers, but was criticized for several reasons, including not featuring Prince Harry, and posting photos despite it being a private celebration.

Social Media Reacts To Meghan Markle's Birthday Video

The internet was full of comments ranging from mocking the "cringe" and "forced" dancing, to criticizing her for posting despite both her and Prince Harry frequently speaking about wanting privacy. Others commented on Meghan celebrating herself without anyone else appearing in the video, while many also fixated on her crown headband.

"Not sure why someone who wants privacy would post this video," observed one Instagram user on a Page Six post. "Another private moment!" exclaimed a second, followed by the crying emoji. "Worldwide privacy tour at its peak," echoed a third, followed by two crying laughing emojis.

"Always looking for attention. Don't we all film ourselves in our kitchens dancing and sending it to people to post?" asked a fourth, as a fifth said: "This is just weird." "The queen of cringe," slammed a sixth, as a seventh agreed: "She's trying so hard. They both are, but it just isn't working."

"It all feels unnatural, despite all her efforts to appear natural and casual," noted an eighth. "Why does it always feel forced?" asked a ninth. "Look, she's so relatable," quipped a tenth, followed by the eye rolling emoji.

"Celebrating alone and letting us all know," an eleventh chimed in. "You know she bought the balloons! Archie only gets one for his birthday," recalled a twelfth, as a thirteenth agreed: "Nobody loves Meghan more than Meghan. Probably bought her own balloons." "Meghan is her number one fan," joked a fourteenth. And then, of course, there were the comments about the crown...

"The crown," commented a fifteenth, followed by plenty of crying laughing emojis. "Yup and that's the only type of crown she will ever wear again," replied a sixteenth, as a seventeenth said: "Fake crown like fake As Always."
