Ivanka Trump recently announced a major initiative in partnership with Meta and the Blinded Veterans Association to provide Ray-Ban Meta AI glasses to all legally blind American veterans.
The announcement was made during the UFC Freedom 250 celebration hosted by Meta and UFC at Ned’s Club in Washington, D.C., on June 12. During the event, the first daughter appeared onstage alongside Don Overton, wearing a cream-colored, figure-hugging dress featuring a turtleneck and a slim black belt. She styled her long blonde hair in a center part as she addressed the audience.

Ivanka Trump Announces Meta Partnership For Blind Veterans
The mom of three has been spearheading the initiative alongside Meta President Dina Powell McCormick. The program aims to provide free Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses to an estimated 130K visually impaired veterans across the United States. Equipped with built-in AI and cameras, reports say the glasses can help users navigate their surroundings by describing environments aloud, reading text, and connecting wearers with live volunteers when additional assistance is needed.
The initiative was inspired by Don Overton, an 82nd Airborne veteran who lost his sight during the Gulf War.
Despite the positive intentions behind the project, the announcement drew skepticism from some social media users. The criticism comes shortly after reports that Ivanka and her husband, Jared Kushner, purchased an island in Albania for a luxury resort development.
One commenter wrote on Instagram, “She is on the damage-control campaign from last week.” Another said, “Sadly, this could be a good initiative, but everything just looks like grift and corruption at this point.” Others added remarks such as, “So they can see the new island resort,” and, “Here comes the propaganda tour.”
Additional critics questioned the timing and motives behind the initiative. One person commented, “It’s not going to happen. She is only doing it to look better because of the resort controversy.” Another wrote, “We’d rather have cheaper gas and food and our soldiers home.” Others expressed distrust, with comments including, “They don’t do anything for nothing,” “An obvious attempt at damage control,” and “The grift continues.”
Some users also argued that the program should have been launched without public promotion. One commenter wrote, “You could also just do it without turning blind veterans into a marketing launch,” while another added, “The hypocrisy of this is disgusting.”

Ivanka & Jared Kushner Slammed For Buying Island In Albania
Ivanka and Kushner, are backing a multi-billion-dollar luxury resort development on Albania’s Sazan Island. The uninhabited island, which spans approximately 1,400 hectares (3,500 acres), is planned to be transformed into a five-star eco-resort community following preliminary approval from the Albanian government.
According to Ivanka, the couple first discovered the island during a family vacation while taking a casual barefoot hike. However, the ambitious development project has sparked significant controversy, triggering large-scale street protests and opposition from critics concerned about its environmental and cultural impact.
