Ellen DeGeneres once had a polished reputation for being a fun, inclusive, silly, and entertaining talk show host. However, after her famous show was cancelled a few years back, people began digging up awkward interview moments that made them second-guess everything.
A clip from famous singer Céline Dion’s appearance on Ellen’s famous talk show has resurfaced after the former host was seen making critical comments about the singer’s son’s long hair. Once it began circulating on social media platforms almost a decade later, internet users felt this was an example of Ellen creating a “rude” environment on her show.

Clip Of Ellen DeGeneres Making Rude Comments About Céline Dion's Son On Her Talk Show Resurfaces
Although she's no longer living in America, the retired talk show host is still in the headlines, as people are still fascinated by how one of the biggest pop culture icons had such a drastic fall from grace. Although her famous daytime talk show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, was canceled in 2022 and she and her wife, Portia de Rossi, moved to the UK, it doesn't mean people haven't been revisiting some of the show's most viral moments.
One of them was a 2007 interview with iconic singer Céline Dion, who chatted with the comedian about her family, including her three sons. As the two stars admired a photo of the award-winning vocalist's kids, Ellen made a vibe-killing joke about her eldest son, René-Charles's long hair, stating, "It seems like you're busy with something, 'cause you're forgetting to cut your son's hair."
"When are you gonna cut that hair?" she then asked as the audience awkwardly laughed and slowly started to go quiet.
Céline seemed taken aback by the rude question and retaliated by firmly asking, "Do you have a problem with that?"
Then, as the interview continued, the singer explained that her son, who was six years old at the time, liked his long hair and would let her know when he was ready to have his long hair cut. Although the situation was dissolved, there was certainly a lot of tension in the room.

Fans React To Ellen 'Mocking' The Singer's Child On Social Media
After the 2007 clip once again went viral on social media, internet users were shocked by the comments Ellen made about the French-Canadian singer's child, and how they felt she handled them like a pro.
They found the video and awkward interview moment especially interesting, knowing that years later, the Ellen DeGeneres Show would be canceled due to reports that the host had allowed for a toxic workplace environment behind the scenes.
On Reddit, users analyzed the uncomfortable interview moment and roasted Ellen in the comments. "I was always left confused and disappointed by her 'style' which seemed to be a combination of mild to complete lack of interest, outright mockery, and enjoying her own jokes more than anything else," wrote an angered user.
Another Reddit user noted they felt that "Céline handled her rude comments perfectly."
"The audience's response says it all," observed a user. "Absolutely flat."
One person wrote that after watching the interview, they were surprised it "took so long" for Ellen to be "exposed as a terrible person and a not much better host."
"Ellen is such a bully!" added a flabbergasted user.
"That question was if not rude, just dumb," noted another. "Like what answer was she thinking she'd get?"
Although the former talk show host hasn't acknowledged this specific interview from almost ten years ago, she hasn't been commenting on her past that much these days, embracing her new English countryside lifestyle and staying out of the public eye.
