Donald Trump Tells Reporter 'You Shouldn't Be Here'
On September 22, 2026, Trump arrived at the United Nations in New York City, and CNN's Kaitlan Collins greeted him by asking about CNN polling showing that two-thirds of Americans did not think the U.S. was winning the war with Iran. Rather than answering the question, Trump reported, "I'm surprised that CNN is here covering me. You shouldn't be here."
After Collins pointed out that Trump could not ban CNN from the United Nations, he responded, "You should not be here covering me. You said you weren’t going to cover me. You shouldn’t be covering me."
Ultimately, he did answer her question, responding that the US was "making a lot of progress" and doing "really, really well," though many social media users disagreed with that line of thinking as well.
