Blake Lively has been laying low in the wake of her lawsuit waged against her It Ends With Us costar and director, Justin Baldoni. However, just hours after announcing she and Baldoni reached a settlement out of court, she appeared on the Met Gala stairs, dressed in an Atelier Versace gown. Many viewers thought her attitude was a bit self righteous, though, as the “mean girl energy” she’s been associated with as of late seemingly made a red carpet appearance. Blake Lively Attends Met Gala After Announcing Settlement Deal
Dressed in a multi-layered gown from Versace's spring 2026 line, Lively looked stunning on the red carpet. The dress had halter straps, a corset-style drop-waist bodice, and a flowing train, all in hues of yellow, pink, and purple. She styled her long blonde locks in her signature waves and wore custom Lorraine Schwartz jewelry. According to sources live on the scene, she seemed "strong, confident, and fearless."
Her surprise appearance at the event came just hours after her legal team announced in a joint statement with Justin Baldoni's legal team that they'd reached a settlement, and their lawsuit was no longer going to trial.
"The end product—the movie 'It Ends With Us'—is a source of pride to all of us who worked to bring it to life," the statement begins. "Raising awareness, and making a meaningful impact in the lives of domestic violence survivors–and all survivors—is a goal that we stand behind."
"We acknowledge the process presented challenges and recognize concerns raised by Ms. Lively deserved to be heard," the statement continues. "We remain firmly committed to workplaces free of improprieties and unproductive environments. It is our sincere hope that this brings closure and allows all involved to move forward constructively and in peace, including a respectful environment online."

Social Media Reactions
Lively's return to the spotlight meant she had all eyes on her, and many viewers of the event couldn't help but notice she seemed to have a bit of an attitude on the red carpet. Surrounded by a team of young men in suits who helped carry her arrange her gown, social media users noticed she wasn't quite polite with her team.
In video clips from the event, one of her staff picked up part of her train to assist her in carrying it up the stairs. She quickly turns around to face him, putting a hand up to stop him and directing him to fan the train of the dress out around her. One user posted a clip on Instagram and added the caption, "The dress said couture. The energy said 'per my last email.'"
Other users agrees in the comment section, leaving notes like, "It looks like she's bossing everyone around. Mean girl energy."
"Yeah her whole aura is terrible," another user said.
