iPhones are incredibly useful and nifty, but once they start to lag and slow down, they can become incredibly frustrating.
There are a lot of things that can cause an iPhone to lag, and they can be related to various parts of your device. For instance, low battery life can cause an iPhone to lag, as well as not enough storage space, or using a certain busy website. To save yourself some time while trying to figure out what’s slowing down your device, we’re listing three apps tech pros say can have that effect, and why you should consider deleting them. Read more about them below.

1. Facebook
Facebook is one of today's most famous social media apps, and there are a lot of iPhone users who still have it on their phones. However, it has taken a dip in popularity, so if you don't use it anymore, you should ditch the app, as it takes up a lot of space.
"This app is infamous for being a real drain on both storage and battery life," says tech pro Bob Gourley. "It keeps running background processes even when you think it's not active. On top of that, it gobbles up your mobile data with those auto-playing videos and constant location tracking. You might want to stick to the mobile site instead."
2. Old Messaging Apps
There are many iPhone users who have a hard time getting rid of apps or who simply don't know how many they have. Years ago, messaging apps were really popular, including ones like Kik. There are other messaging apps still around these days, like WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, and more. If you're not using any of these but have them downloaded, you should delete them, as they hold onto a lot of storage-hogging data.
"They keep all those messages, media, and logs that you probably don't even remember anymore," adds Gourley. "When you delete them, you're clearing out some hidden clutter. It's best to stick to one main app to prevent any duplication and keep things tidy."
