These Next-Gen Sleep Earbuds Are Changing The Way People Sleep—Here's Why They're Worth A Look

My husband is an amazing partner, but he’s also a snorer.

He’s usually out cold within minutes of his head hitting the pillow, while I’m still propped up in bed with my Kindle, trying to finish just one more chapter (all my fellow readers know: it’s always one more chapter.) By the time I’m ready to sleep, he’s already fast asleep and sounding like a small engine idling next to my head.

This totally isn’t his fault, and it’s not something I’ve ever really tried to fix before. And if it does mean I spend an extra half hour awake every night, waiting for my brain to tune out the loud snoring…so what? At least, that’s what I’ve always thought, but then I heard about Ozlo.

The innovative brand believes that people who have trouble sleeping are often failed by the environment they’re sleeping in, whether that’s a snoring partner, a noisy street, or a mind that won’t quiet down. That philosophy comes from people who clearly know sound: Ozlo was founded in 2022 by a team of former Bose engineers, and the brand now holds a portfolio of 109 awarded patents in sleep and audio innovation. This is the pedigree powering their next-gen, award-winning Sleepbuds 2 ($279), which are built to solve the problem I’ve been living with.

While most earbuds use active noise cancellation, Ozlo’s Sleepbuds 2 are built solely to help you sleep. They use noise masking to layer in sound, creating a more stable, natural environment instead of aggressively canceling everything out. Practically speaking, that means I can stream a podcast or one of Ozlo’s 74 built-in soundscapes as I’m reading, and once I actually fall sleep, the buds automatically transition into sleep sounds on their own.

Of course, comfort is the part that makes or breaks any sleep product for me. I’ve tried earbuds that were fine to wear during a workout, but were uncomfortable to sleep in (especially since I’m a side sleeper). But the Sleepbuds 2 are low-profile and made from soft silicone. They’re designed to sit comfortably in your ears all night long, whichever position you like to sleep in. They’re also being marketed as the smallest sleep-specific earbuds out there, which tracks with how easy they are to basically forget you’re wearing once you’re actually lying down.

Battery life was the other thing I wanted to see hold up, because obviously the Sleepbuds need to last through the night. They actually get up to 14 hours on a charge, which is more than enough to cover my whole reading-into-sleeping routine, plus my husband’s snoring situation, plus whatever happens afterwards.

But perhaps my favorite detail is the in-ear alarm. If you’ve ever shared a bed with someone with a different sleep schedule, you know the stress of waking yourself up without waking them up too. For us, that’s mostly about our 3-year-old. My husband and I alternate mornings with her, and on my mornings, I need to be up and out of bed before she is, without dragging him into consciousness before he needs to be. With Sleepbuds 2, there’s a gentle alarm built directly into the earbud, so it wakes me, and only me, while my husband gets to sleep on in peace.

The Sleepbuds 2 also track sleep insights over time, including noise, light, and temperature in your environment, which is a great feature for someone like me who’s never been totally sure why some nights feel worse than others. Is it actually the snoring? The temperature in our room? Something else entirely? Instead of guessing, you get real data on what’s actually disrupting your sleep, so you’re not just left assuming and then complaining about it in the morning (also me).

Right now, there’s never been a better time to grab the Sleepbuds 2 for yourself, because first-time buyers get a pretty sweet deal. Sleepbuds 2 are $279 on their own, but for the launch, the brand is also throwing in a free Ultra-Soft 3D Blackout Sleep Mask and travel case (a combined $58 value). It’s like a full nighttime toolkit: something to block the light, something to block the noise, and a chic space to store it all.

At the end of the day, I’ve made peace with the fact that my husband is always going to be the louder sleeper in our relationship. I’m not trying to fix him, but Sleepbuds 2 might finally be the fix that helps me. If you’ve got your own version of my husband (snorer, noisy street, stormy night, or a racing mind), give them a try!
