The 2026 Primetime Emmy Awards brought out plenty of Hollywood’s biggest stars in Los Angeles on Monday night, but it wasn’t just the glamorous red-carpet gowns that had everyone talking. Zendaya’s dramatic new pixie cut quickly became one of the night’s biggest beauty moments.
The actress appeared to debut her shortest hairstyle yet, prompting fans to immediately compare the bold cut to one of Halle Berry’s signature looks.
The Dune star, who was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her role in Euphoria, walked the red carpet in a custom Prada gown featuring a plunging V-neckline, scattered diamond-like sequins and sheer tulle detailing down the front. She completed the look with a Rolex watch and pearl earrings.

Zendaya Flaunts New Viral Pixie Cut
Still, it was her hair that stole the spotlight.
Styled by Coree Moreno, Zendaya’s ultra-short pixie marked a major departure from the bobs she has favored in recent years. The sleek yet textured style gave her a completely different look while maintaining the polished, fashion-forward aesthetic she is known for.
“For Zendaya, the inspiration is a classic pixie reimagined through a modern, editorial lens,” Moreno said in a press release.
Moreno also shared details about the styling process on Instagram, explaining that the goal was to make every section of the cut feel deliberate while keeping the overall finish natural and lived-in. The hairstylist said the NEW ghd Sculpt Interactive Hair Straightener was used to create soft bends, separation and movement, particularly around the roots and shorter sections.

Fans were quick to praise Moreno’s work, with many saying the 30-year-old's new hairstyle reminded them of Berry’s iconic pixie cuts.
“You deserve the awards, the applause. All of it,” one person wrote on Instagram.
“At first glance I thought of Halle Berry in Swordfish,” another commenter said.

Others were simply obsessed with the dramatic transformation, with one fan declaring, “My favorite hair she’s EVERRRR had wow.”
