The former Prince Andrew’s name has been out of headlines as of late, as he faces the backlash in response to his close relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. After being arrested, losing his royal title, and being evicted from his home at the Royal Lodge, he’s more or less hit rock bottom.

But suffering right alongside him for a host of other reasons are his daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. While both have taken the news of their father’s ties to Epstein pretty hard, royal insiders are saying Princess Eugenie is taking it the hardest. Keep reading for more information.

Princess Eugenie's Having A 'Personal Crisis'

According to Matt Wilkinson, Royal Editor for The Sun, Princes Eugenie and Princess Beatrice are struggling with the news of both their parents' relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. "I've got sympathy for both Beatrice and Eugenie, and I'd like to see them somehow rehabilitated and used properly in the royal family. I think the King wants her, wants them both, to not pay for the sins of their parents, but I'm not sure there is mass public sympathy for them at the moment," he said on A Right Royal podcast.

"They're probably going through a complete and utter personal crisis," he added.

Daughters Feel 'Duped' By Prince Andrew

It would be difficult for any young woman to deal with the truth that their father had a close relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, but Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice, who are always in the public eye, have it even harder. In recent weeks, photos and emails that were part of the "Epstein Files" have been released, each more damning than the next.

Andrew had claimed that he cut off all contact with Jeffrey Epstein in 2010. Now, newly released documents are showing that their relationship extended well past then. A 2011 email is particularly damaging, for it contains the infamous photo of Andrew with his arm around Virginia Giuffre with the words, "It would seem we are in this together."

These revelations make it even more difficult for the women in Andrew's life to have a normal relationship with him. Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice reportedly feel "duped," according to royal author Robert Jobson. "They are pretty torn because they believed [their father," he wrote. "Just like the late Queen and Charles, Andrew told them all the same story—that he had done nothing wrong. My understanding is they feel pretty duped by the whole thing."

"I do think they believed their father," he said again in his book, Windsor Legacy. "And now it has all backfired. I know that Eugenie, especially, has found it very difficult." However, Jobson doesn't think Eugenie and Beatrice will ever fully cut ties from their father. The family of four was spotted together in December for the christening of Beatrice's daughter, however Sarah Ferguson and Andrew did not join the sisters for a celebratory trip to a local pub
