Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Make Surprise Virtual Appearance At The NAACP Image Awards
Last week, stars and notable figures gathered for the 2026 NAACP Image Awards, a ceremony that honors achievements and performances made by people of color in the arts. Although there were already a lot of big names present, there was one surprise appearance that had the internet buzzing.
During the ceremony, attendees were surprised with a video from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who recorded themselves to present the NAACP-Archewell Digital Civil Rights Award, which was founded by their charity organization, the Archewell Foundation, and the NAACP. The award is typically given to leaders in technology and civil rights. You can see their video appearance here!
"This year's recipient is someone whose work I find genuinely inspiring," says Prince Harry in the video, while wearing a simple black blazer and dress shirt. "A groundbreaking legal scholar, author, and president of the Cyber Civil Rights Initiative."
"It is our honor to announce the 2026 NAACP-Archewell Digital Civil Rights Award to Dr. Mary Anne Franks, a fearless woman at the forefront of the modern civil rights movement," Meghan continued while wearing a simple, long-sleeved white top. "Congratulations."

Fans React To Harry & Meghan's Video On Social Media
Once the video that the famous couple recorded for the prestigious award ceremony was shared on social media, royal family fans began to comment on how great they thought it was that they managed to be there for it, despite being unable to make an in-person appearance.
Royal experts are assuming that they could not be there for the awards ceremony on February 28th, as just days before, they were on a special visit to Jordan to visit refugees from Gaza in partnership with the World Health Organization. Despite it all, fans continued to praise them on platforms like Instagram.
"Great couple," wrote a fan on Instagram. "They are doing great things together."
"Great presentation and well done to the Sussex dynamic duo," added another.
"Continue to work together for a better world," wrote an encouraging fan, as another called them "the best of the best."
