Keith Urban reportedly got emotional before performing a new ballad about lost love and an ex moving on during his concert at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City on Friday, August 21st, according to an eyewitness who claimed to be at the show.
The country singer reportedly had the emotional moment while introducing his new song “We Go Back” from his new album Flow State, which was released five months after he and Nicole Kidman finalized their divorce.
The timing has inevitably raised eyebrows given the song’s lyrics and recent rumors that Kidman is getting more serious with her rumored boyfriend, businessman and private equity investor Michael Reinstein. Should he even care given the rumor that he already moved on with someone much younger? Keep reading for more info…

Eyewitness Claims Keith Urban Got Emotional Before Performing ‘We Go Back’
According to reports, an eyewitness claimed that the “Blue Ain’t Your Color” singer became emotional while introducing the song, which tells the story of a man regretting letting a former love go.
Some of the particularly poignant lyrics include: “I know I never should have let you go // I was young and dumb, and I messed it all up bad // You tell me that it’s too late now // ‘Cause there’s somebody new around // But what we’ve got is the one thing you’ll never have // We go back //”

"This song is about a guy and a girl growing up in a small town," Urban reportedly began at Friday's show as the audience cheered him on, adding that they "grew up" together. "They were the first of their friends to fall in love. They had a good thing going, until the guy screwed it up," he said, adding: "I will do that."
We found footage of Urban performing the song, and while he certainly appears to get into the performance, he actually seems pretty smiley and happy to us. Importantly, however, the clip does not show him introducing the song, which is when the Daily Mail reported that he became emotional. This also echoes what one Page Six Instagram user wrote on a post discussing the eyewitness's account.

The commenter, who claimed they were also at the concert, called the interpretation "a stretch." You can watch the performance for yourself, but since we don't have footage of what happened before the song began, we can't independently confirm just how emotional Urban became during the introduction.
It wouldn't surprise us, though, given the several reports that he regrets their split. And it could be even truer now that rumors of Kidman's new romance are intensifying! According to OK! magazine, an insider recently claimed the "Messed Up as Me" singer "absolutely wanted Nicole back" after they called it quits, adding: "He believed they could work through their problems."

Nicole Kidman Opened Up About Life After Keith Urban Divorce
The Big Little Lies actress opened up about the end of her 19-year marriage in a candid interview with British Vogue, telling the fashion bible that she often feels like she's "free falling."
Kidman, who is now rumored to be dating Reinstein, said she tries to abide by a "feelings first" mentality, explaining that she prefers "not to be ruled by my head."
The Practical Magic 2 star explained: "But at the same time, I'm like, 'OK, I didn't expect this. I had a different view of what my life was going to be, but this is what it is now.'" Kidman went on: "You make all these plans and you have all these ideas of what it's all going to be like and then it's... not. You have to adjust. You adapt. The future, it's completely unknown to me right now."

Keith Urban And Nicole Kidman Have Both Sparked Dating Rumors Since Their Split
Urban has reportedly moved on too, with some rumors linking him to his 26-year-old guitarist Maggie Baugh and others linking him to 26-year-old rising country artist Karley Scott Collins. Although the identity of his rumored new love hasn't been confirmed, reports have suggested that the relationship is moving fast.
"I hear he has someone, which is why the girls are publicly supporting mom," one source told the Daily Mail, referencing how their daughters Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret are siding with their mom and don't even want to meet their dad's new beau. "People think they are even living together," the insider added.
Kidman, meanwhile, has been linked to Reinstein. The pair sparked romance rumors after they were photographed together multiple times during a trip to Portofino, Italy last month, with an insider hinting that we shouldn't expect a red carpet debut any time soon. "She keeps her personal life extremely private," the insider told the Daily Mail.
They added: "After everything she went through with Keith, she deserves to find happiness. She never thought her marriage wouldn't work out and she tried as best as she could to keep her family intact. Her daughters are her best friends, and she seems really content in her life."
