Prince Harry recently found himself in court again, but this time, it was to defend not only himself, but his wife and children.

Earlier today, the 41-year-old arrived at High Court in London, where he made a statement amid his highly-publicized lawsuit against the publisher that runs Daily Mail and The Mail, going into more detail about how the publications and what they’ve written have made him and his wife, Meghan Markle, “miserable.” Upon hearing some of his statements and the details of his court appearance, the internet displayed mixed reactions, with a few royal family fans empathizing with the controversial couple, and others sharing the sentiment that they should not be complaining about their names in the press. Prince Harry Testifies During His Lawsuit At London's High Court

The disgraced prince has made another return to his home country, but not with the sole intention of making things right with his father, brother, and other members of the royal family. He went to testify in person against Associated Newspapers, the publisher that owns famous news and tabloid publications, The Daily Mail and The Mail.

Harry initially filed a lawsuit against the publisher towards the end of 2022, two years after his and the As Ever founder's move from the UK to California, and their departure from royal duties. The prince is claiming that the publications used privacy-invading and unethical tactics to gain information about him and his family, which he revealed subsequently caused him and his family emotional distress. He's not the only celebrity to take action against the publisher, but given the popularity surrounding him and his wife, it's one of the most attention-grabbing situations.

In court today, the Spare author opened up more about the psychological toll the stories and publications have taken on him and Meghan, even reportedly choking up and beginning to cry.

"By standing up here and taking a stand against them, this has continued to come after me," he said, as reported by People. "And they have made my wife's life an absolute misery, my Lord. Through the course of this litigation, it's only got worse, not better. It's fundamentally wrong to put all of us through all of this again. What's required is an apology and some accountability. It's a horrible experience."

The Internet Reacts To Prince Harry's Statements In Court On Social Media

Although the lawsuit and legal battle have been developing for three years, the prince's latest statements and emotional display in London were a major development, and many internet users have tuned in to stay abreast of the situation. There were numerous internet users and fans of the royal family, Harry and Meghan included, who sympathized with the prince, recalling how much the press tortured his late mother, and feeling that he should be given a break now that he's no longer a working royal.

However, a large number of users on varying social media platforms echoed a sentiment that has surrounded the couple since they first left the UK, that they 'chose' to insert themselves in the public eye, and got what they signed up for.

"Then quit putting yourselves out there," wrote a user on X. "You brought this on yourselves with your whiny book about being a spare and trashing your family."

"So what?" asked another. "Boo-hoo."

On Instagram, one user called the prince an "attention-seeker," while another wrote, "Enough is enough."
