Melania Trump appeared alongside a humanoid robot during a White House event for her Fostering the Future Together initiative on March 25, creating a moment that quickly caught attention online.

In videos from the event, the First Lady was seen walking in sync with the Figure 3 robot as they entered the room together. She wore a polished, spring-ready look featuring a beige blazer with matching trousers, a white blouse, and white pumps. When they reached the podium, she allowed the robot to speak first.

Melania Trump Steps Out With Humanoid

“Thank you, First Lady Melania Trump, for inviting me to the White House. It is an honor to be at Foster the Future Together’s global coalition inaugural meeting,” the robot said. “I’m Figure 3, a humanoid built in the United States of America. I am grateful to be part of this historic movement to empower children with technology and education.”

The robot continued by greeting attendees in 10 different languages and later engaged in a brief exchange with the first lady about its role in advancing technology-driven education.

Also in attendance was Brigitte Macron, who joined the initiative’s global coalition meeting focused on supporting children through education and innovation.

Officials from nine countries—including Poland, the United Arab Emirates, and Morocco—shared their national strategies for integrating technology into education systems.

The Internet Reacts To Melania Trump Advocating For AI In Classrooms

In her keynote address, the mom of one spoke about the future of artificial intelligence and its role in everyday life.

“Very soon, artificial intelligence will move from our mobile phones to humanoids that deliver utility. Since our environment is designed for people, humanoid systems are uniquely suited to navigate and operate within our world. They ‘fit’ well,” she said.

She went on to paint a picture of how this technology could transform education. “Imagine a humanoid educator named ‘Plato.’ Access to the classical studies is now instantaneous—literature, science, art, philosophy, mathematics, and history—humanity's entire corpus of information is available in the comfort of your home,” she added. “Plato is always patient and always available. Predictably, our children will develop deeper critical thinking and independent reasoning abilities.”

The internet quickly erupted with mixed reactions after her remarks and the appearance of the humanoid robot at the White House.

“The worst thing that could happen to humanity,” one user wrote. Another added, “People from both sides are against this.”

Others responded with humor, with one joking, “She looks happier walking with the robot than with Trump.” Many expressed concern about the implications of AI in education.

“I'm gonna say a big fat ‘NO!’ to this one, we don't need humanoid robots. And it will hinder children, not help them,” one commenter said. Another wrote, “I think I've seen this film before, and I didn't like the ending.”

“I don’t know how I feel about this! Let’s not push this AI/robot future—it creeps me out,” another added, while one user concluded, “AI and robots are not good for our environment or our kids and the next generation.”
