Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may be facing a lot of backlash over their faux royal tour of Australia – but something that happened before they took off is also causing a stir!
Before they embarked on their controversial trip Down Under, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended a Netflix party celebrating Beef Season 2. Also in attendance were lead actress Carey Mulligan and her co-stars Oscar Isaac and Charles Melton, as well as Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos and his wife, Nicole Avant, among others. And Meghan’s outfit certainly turned heads… albeit for all the wrong reasons!

Meghan Markle Attends Netflix Party In Green Heidi Merrick Dress
The Sussexes' attendance at the party also grabbed headlines beyond the fashion side of things, as it made people question the validity of recent claims in a Variety report that Netflix is "done" with them.
Would they really be done with Prince Harry and Meghan if they are still working on projects together (albeit not with Love, Meghan, which was cancelled after two seasons) and were invited to the party?
Most of the guests reportedly wore black and white ensembles, with guest of honor Carey Mulligan wearing a stunning green dress. The other person who chose to wear green (and a very similar shade of green, at that!) was the former Suits actress, who wore a Heidi Merrick gown with brown Jimmy Choo heeled sandals. But unlike Carey who got rave reactions for her look on social media, the response to Meghan's outfit was not positive!
According to Page Six, an insider said there was "no dress code related to color," so was the color match purely a coincidence, or was social media right in thinking that she knew what color Carey would be wearing and wanted to upstage her?

Carey unsurprisingly got a lot of praise for her look, while Meghan received quite the opposite, and was slammed for both the outfit and allegedly trying to pull focus! "Can someone explain why Meghan Markle crashed the event wearing the same color as the lead actress?" asked one fan on Instagram.
"MM is wearing the same color as the lead actress because she wants to steal her thunder, so to speak. As usual, MM wants all the attention on her. She must have asked what kind of dress the star was wearing, and then MM managed to find the ugliest dress in the same color. MM is hideous as always," slammed a second.
"What she 'accomplished' was to make the lead actress look even better by comparison. How delightful to see her evil plans backfiring – as ever," quipped a third, as a fourth noted: "The dress is actually really pretty. She just didn't wear it well. The color wasn't good on her."
The negative comments continued on the Daily Mail, with one reader saying: "The desperation of that woman is nauseating." "Always needs to be the center of attention," wrote a second, while a third agreed: "No one tries harder than Meghan to be in the limelight. It must be exhausting for Harry." "Imagine thinking she could compete with Carey. Sad," thought a fourth, as a fifth added: "How embarrassing."
