The internet has been buzzing ever since the former Prince Andrew’s titles were taken away, and now, a royal expert believes that could be in the cards for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
After the disgraced prince was demoted and stripped of his titles following his scandals and relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, people have been wondering if that means other members of the family will be next. More specifically, there have been whispers that, due to the fact that they are no longer full-time working royals, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle might lose their titles as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Royal Experts Reveal Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Might Lose Their Royal Titles
There has been a lot of discourse ever since the Spare author and Suits alum stepped away from their royal duties as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and how it's impacted the rest of the monarchy.
One of the main topics people have been discussing since their departure, which officially happened in 2020, is whether or not the pair should have their royal titles stripped. Although they have continued to carry out charitable and humanitarian projects, those projects haven't fallen under their official royal duties, and yet they've continued to use their Duke and Duchess titles.
Andrew Lownie, a royal biographer, recently told Radar Online that because of their lack of royal duties, he can see something similar happening to the couple that happened to the 66-year-old prince.
"(There needs to be) more transparency about records and finances, and I think we may well see some moves to remove titles from anyone who isn't in an active working role," he said. "So, I think (the royal family is) going to deal with the Andrew and Harry problem at the same time."

Royal Expert Says Harry & Meghan's Titles Should Be 'Tied' To Their 'Service'
According to the biographer, a member of the royal family and their titles or the future of their titles are typically dependent on whether or not they carry out their official duties. Therefore, some are reporting that members of the monarchy are looking to narrow down those who can actually use their titles.
"The underlying principle here is accountability," Lownie told the above publication. "Titles were historically tied to service – to visible, ongoing work carried out in support of the Crown and the country. When that public role falls away, it inevitably raises questions about whether the status attached to it should remain indefinitely."
"There is a growing view that royal rank cannot simply exist in a vacuum," he continued. "If an individual is pursuing a wholly private life, particularly overseas and outside the framework of official duties, the justification for maintaining that title becomes increasingly difficult to defend in the eyes of both the institution and the public."
