It’s easy to panic when your iPhone, which tends to be a lot of people’s lifelines, runs out of battery. It’s also incredibly frustrating when the apps you use make it worse.
When people begin running out of battery life while using their iPhone, there are a lot of things that can contribute to it. From the chargers you use to how long you keep it plugged in, sometimes pinning down the precise cause of your draining battery can be difficult. However, what can make a tremendous difference are the apps you use. Using information from tech experts, we’re listing three of the ‘worst’ battery-draining iPhone apps. Read more about them below.

1. Social Media Apps
These days, most iPhone users have some kind of social media app downloaded to their phone, and there are a whole lot of users out there who dabble in all of them.
As great as they can be, they require your device to work extra hard, and can easily drain your battery the more you use them. "Not so coincidentally, the apps that are the biggest time sucks are also among the biggest battery drainers," explains tech writer Chandra Steele with PCMag. "Social media apps, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Snapchat, YouTube, and WhatsApp, are in the top 20, and all permit 11 features to run in the background."

2. High-Quality Games
Some people can't imagine getting through their day without spending some time playing their favorite game on their iPhone. There are some very impressive, visually amazing games out there that are accessible via iPhone, but sometimes, the best games can be the ones that take the biggest hit on your battery.
"Graphically intensive games can drain battery power quickly due to their demand for processing resources and continuous screen activity," says tech expert Yash Giri at Technographx. "These apps require sustained usage of the CPU and GPU, leading to accelerated battery consumption."

3. Dating Apps
Hope this doesn't kill your romantic vibe, but the dating app or apps you use can make a bigger impact on your device's battery than you may think. They use and incorporate a lot of features, from needing your location to even displaying ads between swipes, putting more strain on your battery.
"Online dating can be emotionally exhausting, and your phone feels the same way," notes Steele. "Bumble, Grindr, and Tinder account for 15% of the top battery-draining apps. They each let about 11 features run while you swipe on potential matches."
