Ellen DeGeneres’ career looks a little different since her long-running talk show ended in 2022, following allegations of a toxic work environment behind-the-scenes.

Although she reportedly still has an impressive real estate portfolio, the 68-year-old canceled comedian is seemingly also promoting discounted skincare, which is making fans think that she could actually be struggling financially…

Ellen DeGeneres' Kind Science Skincare Infomercial Goes Viral

The Finding Dory actress, who is currently living in the U.K. with wife Portia de Rossi, has been widely mocked on social media after a video of herself promoting items from her skincare brand Kind Science at a heavily discounted price went viral.

Ellen co-founded Kind Science skincare in 2021 with beauty expert Victoria Jackson. The science-backed brand seems to target women over 40, with a range of products designed to address fine lines, wrinkles, and skin elasticity, among other things.

In the infomercial, the former Ellen DeGeneres Show host walks viewers through the products and the limited-time offer, and explains that customers can get six products worth $250 for just $59.95 if they purchase them as a bundle.

Social Media Reactions

A TikTok video of the infomercial was captioned: "Ellen fell off HARD." The video also had the caption, "Ellen has to make money somehow I guess," followed by a crying laughing emoji.

The clip was quickly reposted by many other accounts, with many users piling on in the comments – both on TikTok and across other social media platforms.

"Ellen's career has 'Degenerated' generously," quipped one social media user. A second added: "Whenever I see a celebrity in a commercial, I assume that that's the decline of their career." "She looks like she [doesn't] wanna be there," thought a third, as a fourth added: "Money running low lol."

Not all of the commentary was negative, though. "That girl has a net worth of $500M. This was probably just easy money or a way to turn something she'd buy anyway into income," one fan noted in her defense. "Honey she didn't fall off... this is HER brand," a second pointed out.
