Women Are Swapping Their Boring Water For This Ice Pop Electrolyte Mix!

As a mom, I don’t have much time for an involved haircare process (case in point: I’m usually in the shower whenever anyone starts yelling that they need me).

But about once a week, I make time for what I call my “everything” shower. I shampoo, shave, exfoliate, slather on a deep-conditioning hair mask, and, if I’m feeling ambitious, try out a new beauty or haircare product I’ve been reading about. It could be a new spray or oil or even something I’ve never thought to put in my hair before. If I love it, it earns a spot in my everyday routine.

Lately, I’ve had my eye on a few haircare finds that seem worth a spot in my rotation. There’s an organic rose water spray for a quick refresh and a little extra shine, a biotin shampoo geared toward fuller-looking hair, and a castor oil serum that helps smooth frizz and tame flyaways. They’re three pretty different products, but each offers something my thick, curly hair can always use a little more of.

Ella & Eden Organic Rose Water Spray ($14.99)

Remember how I said my self-care routine is more limited than I’d like? That means I’m often looking for products that pull double duty, just like this organic rose water spray from Ella & Eden.

It’s gentle enough to use as a refreshing face mist, but it can also come in handy on days when my curls need a little pick-me-up. Just a few spritzes can help refresh my strands, smooth frizz, and add a touch of shine without weighing hair down. That’s a big plus for me, as I tend to go three days or more between hair washes. Oh, and it’s made with steam-distilled organic roses, so you’re getting a simple, single-ingredient formula without alcohol, added fragrance, or oils. The naturally light floral scent from Bulgarian rose petals is just the cherry on top.

Mokita Biotin Hair Growth Shampoo ($28)

Nearly half of all women experience some form of hair loss or hair thinning in their lifetime. If you’re noticing more hairs than usual clogging up your bathroom drain or brush, you’re not alone!

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve found biotin is my best friend. So I was interested to come across this biotin shampoo from Mokita Naturals, which is formulated with biotin and six botanical extracts to help nourish hair and leave it looking stronger and fuller. It’s also designed to give your scalp and strands a deeper clean, helping wash away buildup from styling products and hard water that can leave hair looking dull. I like that it’s free of sulfates, parabens, and alcohol, too, and is formulated for all hair types—including thick, curly hair like mine.

HerStyler Castor Oil Serum ($12.99)

After seeing the haircare benefits of castor oil splashed all over BeautyTok, I’ve been curious to try it out for myself.

Rich in fatty acids, castor oil is known for its moisturizing properties, and can help coat strands to keep them feeling softer and more manageable. But at the same time, if you’ve ever used pure castor oil, you know it can be pretty thick and heavy. This small but mighty serum is the best of both worlds, combining castor oil with argan oil, aloe, and vitamin E in a lightweight formula. It helps smooth frizz, soften dry ends, and add shine without leaving hair feeling greasy (i.e. no gunky spots on your pillowcase if you apply it before going to bed!). I like to use it on damp hair to help tame my flyaways, but it’s a great addition for anyone dealing with dry or frizz-prone ends.

Here’s hoping you find something new to try out the next time you give your strands some TLC. A little haircare experimentation never hurts!
