Brad Pitt is reportedly still holding out hope that he can repair his relationships with his children, despite years of estrangement following his split from Angelina Jolie.
While the actor has had a difficult time navigating his family situation, a new report suggests he hasn’t given up on reconnecting with his kids and is especially hoping to make progress as the holiday season approaches. Read more about what the report had to say about him reconnecting with his kids below.

Brad Pitt Reportedly Wants To Reconnect With His Kids This Holiday Season
According to a new report, Brad is still deeply affected by his strained relationships with his children and wants them to know that he hasn't stopped caring about them.
The actor reportedly remains hopeful that things could eventually change, even after years of distance between them. With the holidays approaching, the F1 star is said to be making an effort to reconnect with his children. Although there hasn't been a significant breakthrough in their relationships, the report suggests that he hasn't given up on the possibility of reconciliation.
"Brad has not given up hope that one day this nightmare will be over and he'll have his kids back in his life," a source told In Touch. "He loves them dearly and being shut out as this torments him, but he has to believe that eventually time will heal things...It's hard for him to imagine that the bond he has with his children and all the love they shared over the years could just disappear. He sends the kids gifts every Christmas, and this year will be no different."

Brad Wants To Reconnect With His Kids Despite Them Dropping His Last Name
One of the most telling indicators of where the Pitt-Jolie children stood with their father was when several of them dropped his last name from theirs, primarily going by Jolie. Though some made the name change at public events, others filed to drop it legally.
While several of the Oscar-winner's children have reportedly taken steps to distance themselves from his surname, his son Pax is an exception. Although the two are reportedly not speaking, Pax has continued using the Pitt name, which sources say offers the actor a small sense of comfort amid the family rift.
"He wants them to know he's thinking of them, even if they aren't ready to talk to him," added the above source. "It's heartbreaking having to rely on photos and updates from other people to find out how they're doing…but he's hoping that as they get more independence and form more of their own opinions, they'll be more willing to give him a chance."
