Demi Moore is known for her signature long, dark hair, but the actress proved she can pull off a shorter style just as effortlessly after debuting a sleek faux bob at New York Fashion Week.
The Substance star stepped out at the Thom Browne Spring/Summer 2027 fashion show at The Shed in Manhattan on Tuesday, Sept. 15, appearing to have traded her famously lengthy locks for a chic, chin-grazing bob. However, the dramatic chop was only temporary. Her hairstylist, Hos Hounkpatin, confirmed on Instagram that the look was a “faux” bob.
The dark hairstyle featured a deep side part and was slicked close to the head while maintaining volume and movement toward the ends.

Demi Moore Debuts Chin-Grazing Faux Bob
The 63-year-old paired the faux bob with a preppy-inspired Thom Browne ensemble featuring a black bomber jacket, a collared blouse with a necktie layered beneath a sheer black top, a pleated black skirt, tights and pumps. Oversized glasses and a leather bag completed the look.
While the hairstyle wasn't permanent, fans were clearly hoping Moore would make the chop official, flooding social media with praise and encouraging her to keep the shorter style.
“If only you’d cut your hair, it looks adorable,” one person wrote.
“I love your hair shorter, you should keep it that way in a bob,” another fan said.
“This hair style suits you well,” a commenter added.
“The shorter hair looks classy as well,” another wrote.

Demi Moore Has Tried the Bob Before
This isn't the first time the mom of three has experimented with a shorter hairstyle this year.
In February, she turned heads at Gucci's Fall/Winter 2026 show during Milan Fashion Week with a sleek, chin-length bob featuring a wet-look finish and side part.
Her hairstylist, Dimitris Giannetos, dubbed the style the “Demi-tris BoB.” At the Cannes Film Festival in May, she donned a wavy long bob styled in a deep side part, giving her a fresh and modern look for spring.
Moore has also experimented with other shorter lengths throughout her career.
Her most famous short hairstyle came in 1990 when she wore a pixie cut in Ghost, years before she became known for her ultra-long, dark hair.
Now, with another faux bob turning heads at NYFW, fans appear to be making their feelings clear: they wouldn't mind seeing Moore make the shorter look permanent.
