The talk show host recently roasted the president on a new episode of The View, making a lewd joke about the war in Iran. The U.S.’s involvement in the war has been stressing many Americans out, and more voices in the media are continuing to criticize the Commander-in-Chief. Joy Behar Slams Donald Trump In A Few Jokes On 'The View'
Ever since he first started running for president over ten years ago, ladies on The View have openly criticized him, his beliefs, and policies. Some of his loudest opponents on the series have been Whoopi Goldberg and former comedian Joy Behar, who recently had some things to say about the president's decisions surrounding the war in Iran.
The war and conflict have been one of the most controversial topics within the 79-year-old's second term so far, with numerous American citizens finding it dangerous, unnecessary, and cruel for affected Iranian citizens. Meanwhile, the president continues to promise the American people that it will not only improve the lives of those living in the Middle Eastern country, but also keep the USA safer from imminent threats.
At the end of March, the hosts on The View sat down to talk about the president's reported negotiations involving the war, when Joy and returning guest co-host, the conservative Abby Hunstman, began to go back and forth on their beliefs.
After a video of President Trump stating the country had received "presents" from the country, Joy responded, "And what's the gift, besides herpes?"
"Don't make it sound like I'm against the military," she later added, amid back and forth with Huntsman. "I'm not. All my uncles, my father, they all fought, so don't make it sound like that. I'm talking about this particular, as he calls it, excursion into Iran. What have they accomplished so far?
A White House Spokesperson Calls Joy Behar 'Talentless' In A New Statement
After the episode where the former comedian made a lewd joke about Trump's "present" comments, it didn't take long for people to start sharing it online.
"I couldn't believe it when she said that," commented a Reddit user. "She likes to push boundaries."
"Love when Joy gets Trump's attention," added another. "That means it was an extra good zinger!"
Her comments on the war in Iran eventually made it back to President Trump and people in the political world, as Davis Ingle, an official spokesperson for the White House, released a statement in response to what Joy said, and she was certainly fired back at.
While speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Ingle called the 83-year-old "an extremely unlikeable, talentless hack with a poorly rated TV show who clearly suffers from a severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome." Additionally, he gave her the nickname of "Joyless Behar."
"President Trump is working tirelessly every single day to ensure the American military continues to be the greatest, most powerful fighting force in the world that will crush our enemies and defend our great nation," the statement finished.
It seems that the famous co-host will continue to voice her opinions, no matter how the president or people from his administration respond. Still, there's no denying that this was one intense clap back from the White House.
