Britney Spears’ son Jayden James is speaking out about the pressure he feels to prove himself as he begins pursuing a career in modeling.
The 19-year-old has faced criticism over his new career path, with some people questioning whether he is benefiting from nepotism as the son of one of the world’s most famous pop stars. Now, in a new cover story, Jayden is opening up about the assumptions people make about him and his desire to be seen as more than just a celebrity kid. Jayden James Opens Up About Feeling Like He Has Something To Prove In A New Interview
In a September 23rd interview with Interview magazine titled "What Does It Feel Like to Be Jayden James?," the teenager answered a series of personal questions about his life, interests, ambitions, and how he sees himself. The conversation touched on everything from his love of music and cars to the pressure of growing up in the public eye.
The teenage son of the iconic pop star also addressed how people can make assumptions about him without knowing who he really is, revealing that he often feels like he has something to prove. His comments come after he faced backlash over his budding modeling career and criticism surrounding his famous family connections.
"It feels like I always have something to prove, even though I don't need to prove anything," he admitted. "I'd rather people get to know me rather than assume they already do."
When asked what he thinks is "overrated," Jayden responded, "Seeking approval. The more you try to please others, the more you lose yourself."

Jayden James Is Building His Modeling Career
The 19-year-old began making moves in the fashion world earlier this year when he and his older brother, Sean Preston Federline, made their runway debuts at the Vetements Menswear Spring/Summer 2027 show during Paris Men's Fashion Week in June.
He later told Vogue that he was interested in continuing to walk the runway, while admitting that he hoped to improve his walk after feeling nervous during his first show.
"I feel like I could do better, since this was my first fashion show and everything," he said. "I could master my walk better — I was definitely stiff because I was nervous. But Preston and I are trying to do music and other things."
He has since expanded his modeling portfolio with a major beauty-industry opportunity, landing the cover of MAC Cosmetics' digital publication, MACzine, in August, and now the Interview cover last month, getting his growing fanbase excited for his future.
