It has been two years now since playing Hermann Goering in Nuremberg. The long, sweaty days in the beautiful Spanish sunshine have definitely been a great motivator. As I always say, it’s one layer of tissue paper at a time. Consistency is your friend.”

Fans React To Russell's New Photo And Transformation In The Comments
This is not the first time the 62-year-old has opened up about his health and fitness journey, as he's been working on it and speaking about it in various interviews over the last few years.
Last year, he was a guest on The Joe Rogan Experience and began talking to the famous podcast host about how he ended up losing around 60 pounds after filming Nuremberg, as he had to gain weight for the role and didn't want to keep it going for a while. He explained that some of the things that helped him lose the weight "really slowly" and in a healthy way were to cut out alcohol.
"If I decide to have a glass of wine with dinner, it's going to be a really nice wine," he explained. "I try not to have casual drinks, now. [As in] having a drink for the sake of it."
Additionally, he began upping his wellness routine by treating some of the inflammation in his body with injections and healing some of his old filming injuries, all of which allowed him to exercise more and build a routine he could follow consistently.
"It's calmed down a bunch of stuff, and it's taking a bunch of pain away, so I can go and work out and not have to suffer for two or three hours afterward," he added.
His progress is certainly noticed by fans, many of whom took to the comments under his latest post to cheer him on and write about how far he's come.
"Looking good, Russell Crowe," commented a supportive fan. "Jacked!"
"To be this jacked at 62 is INSANE," added another.
"Maximus is back," wrote a fan, referring to his famous Gladiator character, as another commented, "I love how happy you look!"
"Getting back in shape, now you're stronger than Maximus," commented a user.
