Miley Cyrus is celebrating the release of her new album and believes she received a positive sign from her departed godmother, Dolly Parton, in the process.
The singer-songwriter recently took to Instagram to tease snippets of her new album, Bass Persuades, before it came out. She shared a video of herself driving around while listening to some of the songs when she spotted a cardboard cutout of her late godmother, Dolly Parton, in front of a nearby home, telling her friends it was a ‘sign.’ This quickly led to her fans losing it in the comments, given that many have been concerned for Miley since Dolly’s passing weeks ago. It’s been a big year for the Hannah Montana star, and she’s choosing to close it out with some new music and the beginning of a new era.
Now, simply going by ‘Miley,’ the pop star is celebrating the release of her tenth studio album, Bass Persuades, which came out on September 18th. The album came out only around a week after she released her first single for it, the title track, and a tantalizing new music video. Leading up to the album’s release date, Miley posted a series of videos on Instagram of her driving around while listening to some of the new music, a remix of the single, giving fans a teaser of what’s to come.
In the video, the “Bass Persuades” remix can be heard playing in the background, with the singer dancing around in the front seat. Suddenly, she exclaims, “Dolly!” as the camera pans to a cutout of Dolly Parton in front of someone’s home.
“It’s a sign,” she adds.

Fans React To Miley's Video & Share 'Emotional' Comments
After sharing her video earlier this week, the Disney alum's fanbase quickly began losing it in her comment section. Many have been worried about her since the passing of the 9-to-5 icon, who was her godmother and collaborator for years.
Following the announcement of her death on August 25th, Miley took to Instagram to write a tribute for Dolly, stating, "The feeling of losing my Aunt Dolly is beyond what feels right to share. Our most sacred moments were private, and they'll stay there behind the stage, beneath the glamour & between our hearts."
Therefore, when fans saw her 'sign' video, they ended up getting 'emotional' and sent many supportive messages, including how they feel it's a "spiritual sign."
