Michelle Obama Calls America 'Janky'
The sibling co-hosts welcomed comedian Hasan Minhaj on one of their recent podcast episodes, and together were discussing that the current "version" of the United States is "janky."
"That's the 2.0 of life and when we talk about, how do you feel about the country?" Michelle asked Hasan. "You know, there are versions of the country that happen, right? And the new version doesn’t make the old one bad. It’s necessary for growth. And I think we’re in just a janky version."
"S*** is jank right now," Hasan responded. "It's super jank." The former first lady added that she thinks Americans started "taking things for granted. "
"When you’re not so janky, you don’t have to prove that, right? And so we haven’t been this janky for a while," she added. "And I think our muscle of understanding our truth just got a little lax. We started taking things for granted, right."

Social Media Reactions
Across social media platforms, many online users reacted negatively to Michelle's criticism of the United States. "Sister looking janky herself," one person on X reacted. "My business was struggling under the Obama administration and I voted for Obama the first time. Michelle Obama was a big part of me walking away from the Democrat party. I realized they hate America at that time."
"Michelle Obama is the one who is janky," another person agreed. "She is anti-American. She has always hated America. She is the type who will never be satisfied with anything!" "She says we are cheap, junky and about to fall apart! Her and he Janky husband ran our country right into the ground!" the next person wrote.
"Michelle has no respect for the United States or the people in this country or the direction the people choose to take this country toward," another said.
"So leave," a final user posted. "No loss."
