Beyoncé is facing a wave of backlash from fans after she added her latest piece of merchandise to her website for pre-order: an empty wooden box. The box, called “Bey Keeper Collector’s Box,” has a rather hefty price tag attached. The “final sale item” is being sold for $948.01, and fans are not having it. Keep reading for more information.

Beyoncé Pushes $1k Wooden Box
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of her second album, B'Day, Beyoncé has gone all out. She's already dropped an extended release that includes remixed and remastered recordings, plus previously unreleased music. She's also launched pre-orders for a deluxe vinyl for $150, and most controversially, an empty wooden box for $948.01.
The box, with an illustration of a bee on the lid and the word, "BEYONCÉ" engraved on the side, is a limited edition item. Only 500 are being made in total.
"Inspired by the beauty of traditional beekeeper crates, this limited-edition collector’s box is designed to house and display your Beyoncé vinyl collection," the website describes the box. "Handcrafted from solid pine wood, finished with beeswax oil, lined in deep green velvet, and fitted with a faux gator-skin leather carrying strap with gold hardware, each box features custom engraved details and is exclusively numbered 1/500, making this an essential piece of art for the Hive."
The website also makes sure to note: "vinyls not included" and "final sale item."

"Gas is $5 a gallon and she charging $900 for a wooden box—absurd!!" said another.
"Now imagine if Taylor did this utter b*******," wrote a third person. "It'd be on the national news for a week and we wouldn’t hear the end of it. but it’s crickets when it’s Beyoncé."
"Trifling," another person commented. "This is Trump behavior."
"She is so greedy," agreed the next.
"Absolute tone deaf greed," added another.
"I thought it had albums inside when I realized it was empty," a final user wrote. "This was so out of touch and ridiculous of her. I cant support that. Thats just taking advantage of fans."
