Melania Trump sparked plenty of attention with a recent fashion choice—though not all of it was praise, as fans quickly turned the moment into a series of jokes online.
On April 13, she welcomed Queen Máxima and Willem-Alexander to the White House wearing a white midi dress by Erdem. The cloqué design featured bold black floral appliqué across the front, with a deliberately textured, slightly wrinkled fabric that gave the look a lightweight feel. She paired the dress with classic pumps from Christian Louboutin.

Melania Trump Turns Heads In A Cloqué Midi Dress
Queen Máxima opted for a burnt-orange midi dress by Claes Iversen, a subtle nod to the Netherlands’ signature national color. She completed her look with buttery brown leather “Gianvito 105” heels from Gianvito Rossi, while the men kept things traditional in navy suits.
Over on Reddit and X, however, users had plenty to say about the First Lady's outfit. “Melania's dress looks like redacted files,” one person wrote. A reply read, “I was going to post ‘who scribbled all over her dress’ but yours is keeping more in theme with current events, so hat tip to you.” Another joked, “Trump went after Melania's dress with his Sharpie,” while someone else added, “What’s with the big scribbles on Melania? She redacted something??”
On X, reactions were similarly blunt. “That's an unfortunate dress choice. It looks like cowhide,” one user commented, while another simply said, “I dont like the dress of Melania. Sorry.”

Melania Trump Addresses Epstein Ties In Televised Statement
In another headline-making moment, the mom of one delivered a surprise six-minute televised statement from the White House on April 9, addressing what she described as “unfounded and baseless lies” linking her to late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
In the address, she said, "The lies linking me with the disgraceful Jeffrey Epstein need to end today. The individuals lying about me are devoid of ethical standards, humility and respect. I do not object to their ignorance, but rather I reject their mean-spirited attempts to defame my reputation."
She continued, "I've never been friends with Epstein. Donald and I were invited to the same parties as Epstein from time to time since overlapping in social circles is common in New York City and Palm Beach," adding that she didn't meet Epstein until the year 2000 at an event she went to with the president himself.
According to reports, the speech came as a surprise to members of the West Wing and even to Donald Trump, who said: "I didn't know anything about it."
