Melania Trump continued to break from traditional First Lady style, stepping out in another tailored look at the White House Easter Egg Roll on April 6, held under the “America 250” theme.
Coordinating subtly with Donald Trump’s navy suit, the 55-year-old wore a navy blue blazer from Ralph Lauren featuring buttons and pockets, paired with a crisp white shirt. She completed the outfit with loose, high-waisted, wide-leg trousers in an off-white shade, a slim matching belt, and cream pointed-toe flats. Her look was finished with her signature glam and polished hairstyle.

Melania Trump Wears Wide-Leg Trousers At Easter Egg Roll
The ensemble marked a shift from her 2025 Easter appearance, when she wore a cream-colored, double-breasted leather trench coat from Mackage. The “GAEL-V” trench featured a sash belt and was styled with gray-green patent leather pumps from Roger Vivier.
During this year's event, the former model and President Trump mingled with guests, with the president even referring to her as a “movie star” while speaking from the Truman Balcony. She also took part in several children’s activities, including egg coloring, visiting the Be Best card-writing station, and reading The Runaway Bunny to kids in the reading nook.
Of course, Melania's appearance didn’t come without some controversy. A White House reporter from Newsweek shared a video on Instagram showing himself asking her about the Iran war. The mom of one appeared to ignore the question, walking past him and simply saying, “Thank you.”
The moment quickly sparked reactions online, with users flooding the comments section and many criticizing her lack of response.

Melania Trump Called 'Clueless' During White House Easter Event
“She doesn’t have any idea what is going on,” one user wrote. Another added, “Clueless,” while someone else commented, “Her answer would have been, ‘What war?’”
Others echoed similar sentiments, with one writing, “Because she doesn’t have a clue what day it is, let alone anything else,” and another adding, “She doesn’t even know there is a war.” One commenter claimed, “Because she has no opinion. She is not affected… she has a good life.”
In another headline-making moment this week, Melania delivered a surprise six-minute televised statement from the White House on April 9, addressing what she described as “unfounded and baseless lies” linking her to late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
A key focus of her remarks was shutting down claims that Epstein introduced her to Donald Trump. She maintained that she met her husband “by chance” at a party in New York City in 1998—a story she says is also detailed in her book, Melania. She added that she did not encounter Epstein until 2000, two years after meeting Trump.
According to reports, the speech came as a surprise to members of the West Wing and even to the president himself, who said: "I didn't know anything about it."
