Meghan Markle’s fashion choices during her Australia tour last month are still sparking conversation online.
During visits to a children’s hospital and later a women’s homelessness shelter, the Duchess stepped out in an outfit reportedly valued at around $105K total, according to RadarOnline.

Meghan Markle Wears Pricey Outfit & Jewelry To Serve Food At Homeless Shelter In Australia
While visiting the McAuley Community Services for Women—where she helped serve lunch—Meghan wore the navy “Priscilla Dress” by Australian designer Karen Gee, which retails for about $1,250. She paired the dress with Dior Dioressence heels reportedly priced at just under $750.
However, it was her jewelry collection that drew the most attention online. Meghan accessorized with Puffy Hearts gold earrings valued at around $780 and wore Cartier pieces including Princess Diana’s iconic gold Cartier Tank watch—an heirloom estimated to be worth millions despite its original retail value being around $26K. She also wore her Cartier Love bracelet, reportedly gifted during her first marriage to Trevor Engelson, which retails for nearly $8K.
The mom of two completed the look with a three-carat Lorraine Schwartz emerald-cut diamond pinky ring estimated to be worth around $70K.
At the homelessness shelter, Meghan added an apron while helping serve meals to women and families. The McAuley Community Services for Women organization provides crisis support, emergency accommodation, and advocacy for women and children escaping domestic violence and homelessness across Australia.

Social Media Reacts
Online, many critics argued that wearing such expensive accessories while visiting vulnerable communities felt tone-deaf.
“What can one say? It’s like a slap in the face for the homeless,” one Instagram user wrote. “What happened to jeans, sneakers, and a baseball cap? No jewelry. Some real empathy.”
Others commented, “Money does not make you a decent person,” “Hugely inappropriate,” and “Very insensitive.” Another critic sarcastically added, “She should have worn a crown to get more attention,” while another dubbed her “the duchess of disaster.”
The couple’s Australia trip overall received mixed reactions online, with some praising the charitable appearances while others criticized what many described as a “quasi-royal” tour.
Prince Harry and the former actress reportedly spent four days in Australia combining charity-focused appearances with commercial engagements. Meghan participated in a paid wellness conversation event in Sydney and appeared on MasterChef, while Harry attended the InterEdge Psychosocial Safety Summit in Melbourne.
Critics also questioned the use of tax-funded security during portions of the trip, particularly for appearances tied to private or paid events.
