If you’ve ever applied blush only to feel like it somehow dragged your face down instead of lifting it up, celebrity makeup artist and beauty creator Christen Dominique may have cracked the code. In a viral TikTok, Dominique shared a surprisingly simple blush hack that promises a more sculpted, ‘lifted’ look—using a product you already have in your makeup bag: concealer.

“I’ve never seen this blush hack before,” Dominique says at the start of the video, admitting she went into it skeptically. “But you take any blush, pop it on how you normally would.”

She begins by applying blush in her usual placement, noting that she already feels fairly lifted—but is open to being proven wrong. The real trick comes next.

The Viral Lifted Blush Hack

After applying blush, Dominique reaches for concealer and demonstrates the technique step by step. “So take a concealer, start at the end of your nose and drag it out to the middle of your ear,” she explains.

This diagonal line—placed just underneath the blush—acts almost like a visual guide and a soft sculpting tool. Once applied, she gently buffs the concealer into the skin, blending upward and outward.

“Buff it into your skin, and it’s supposed to give you the most 'lifted, perfect' blush placement for your face,” she says.

Rather than wiping away blush, the concealer subtly sharpens the lower edge, lifting the cheek visually and cleaning up the placement without harsh lines—similar to how concealer is used under contour or eyeliner.

Tools Matter (But Not Too Much)

For blending, Dominique uses an Hourglass brush, though she admits she’s not sure of the exact brush number. “There’s no number, so I can’t tell you what it is,” she laughs, adding that its shape seems ideal for softly diffusing concealer without disturbing the blush too much.

She stresses the importance of blending everything together before making a final judgment. “I need to mesh this together first before judging it,” she says as she buffs the product into the skin.

The bottom line

Once everything is blended, Dominique checks the results in real time. “What do we think?” she asks. “Are we lifted?”

The answer—judging by the comments and side-by-side comparisons—is a resounding yes.

The cheek appears more sculpted, elevated, and cleanly defined, without looking overdone or heavy. The beauty of this hack is its simplicity. It doesn’t require a specific blush formula, contour product, or face shape. Instead, it refines what you’re already doing, making your blush work with your bone structure rather than against it.

If your blush has ever felt a little off, this concealer trick might be the easiest fix—and your most lifted look yet.
