Katherine Schwarzenegger is facing backlash from social media users after a post she made about her husband, Chris Pratt. The mother-of-three posted a video of Pratt building their daughters a dollhouse from scratch, adding a caption about “needing” him. While some interpreted this as a sweet way of appreciating all that Pratt does for their girls, others saw it as setting a bad example of relying on her husband. Keep reading to hear both sides of the story.

Katherine Schwarzenegger Says She Needs Chris Pratt

Last week, Katherine Schwarzenegger, the oldest of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s five children, posted a video of her husband sanding a hand-made dollhouse in their backyard, one he made for their children, Lyla, 5, Christina, 3, and Ford, 1.

“I’ll never understand when women say, ‘I don’t need my husband‘ when I very much in fact do need my husband because who else would build our daughters a doll house?” she wrote on Instagram. She set the video to Olivia Dean’s hit song, “Man I Need,” and added the caption, “When you have a golden retriever husband >>>”

Social Media Reactions

While many followers in her comment section were fawning over Katherine and Chris' sweet relationship, leaving comments like, "You two are the cutest couple!" and "What a sweet comment about and to her husband!" others were less enthused.

"You. You could do it," one critic commented. "How nice that he did but it's either tone deaf or passive aggressive to say you'll 'never understand.'"

"YOU can build the dang doll house," another person wrote. "Teach your daughter to build it herself. I WANT my husband to spend life with me. I’m not helpless."

"Are we surprised?" another asked. "She's a rich nepo baby."

"A bad role model for her own daughter," added the next.

Luckily, many women came to her defense. "We know women can do that!!" one fan wrote. "She's just happy that Chris can do it—you go Chris!"

"I think it’s amazing that you have a husband to do things like this," a final fan said. "People are just jealous of what you have in Chris. Needing each other is what keeps a marriage strong."
