Earlier this month, royal family fans were shocked when they learned that one of Kate Middleton’s most trusted aides had decided to depart from her royal duties and enter a new line of business. Notably, once she left, she took a moment to unfollow a controversial royal figure.

Around a week after the former aide to the Princess of Wales, Natasha Archer, decided to leave her role at Kensington Palace, her Instagram account became public, and royal family fans couldn’t help but call out the fact that she decided to unfollow Meghan Markle. The aide worked extremely closely with Kate for over 10 years, and the news of her disconnect from the As Ever founder didn’t come as much of a surprise to those who knew about Kate and Meghan’s reported ‘clash’ during their time in the royal family together. Read more about the aide’s departure below.

Natasha Archer Steps Down As Kate Middleton's Personal Assistant After 15 Years

On July 9th, it was revealed that Kate Middleton's faithful personal assistant, Natasha Archer, was leaving her side after 15 years of service to start a new business venture. Now setting up her own private consulting service, Natasha first started as a faithful employee to the Princess of Wales in 2010, where she worked as a personal assistant for both her and her husband, Prince William.

Getting closer to the couple, she continued to climb her way up the ladder as a trusted aide, and reportedly even offered fashion and styling advice to the iconic mother-of-three, who is known for her super chic wardrobe. At one point, she was promoted to senior private executive assistant and worked faithfully for Kate at Kensington Palace and beyond, photographed carrying around her luggage and attending royal events.

After over a decade of hard work, she decided to go off on her own and revamp her career, stepping down from her assistant position to offer 'Luxury Consultancy' services.

Natasha Archer Unfollows Meghan Markle On Instagram After Leaving Her Job

Now that it's been over a week since the personal aide left the royal family, she's updated and opened up some of her social media accounts, including an Instagram account that's now dedicated to her consulting business ventures. When her Instagram account was made public, royal family fans noticed that her account was following both Meghan Markle's personal account and her As Ever brand profile.

However, as of July 17th, the former palace employee has unfollowed both Meghan-related accounts. She does still follow the official Instagram page for the Prince and Princess of Wales, noting a specific incident of her choosing to unfollow the accounts created for the Duchess of Sussex. Avid royal family fans think this could be related to the rumors and reports that the former Suits actress and the princess didn't get along very well before Meghan and Prince Harry stepped down from their royal duties.

In his memoir, Spare, the prince hinted that the two prominent women "clashed" and that there was some tension between them during their time making public appearances together. When it came out that Natasha had unfollowed the Canadian native's accounts, royal family fans began weighing in on the matter via social media comments.

"Who hasn't unfollowed and unfriended Markle?" wrote an Instagram user. "Surprised it took this long!"

Other fans weighed in on the evolving tension between the Princess of Wales and Duchess of Sussex, writing, "the drama continues." Another added that the situation felt like "high school" shade and drama.

We'll be curious to see how Natasha's career in consulting goes, and if she decides to make any more subtle or outright commentary about where she and Kate stand with Meghan.
