Jennifer Aniston Shows Support To Ex-Husband Justin Theroux On Instagram

On April 18th, the Leftovers actor and his wife jointly shared a black and white image of their newborn son lying on his chest. The post was captioned, "He's here," followed by a white dove emoji. They added: "We are so in love."

The Morning Show actress liked the post, proving that there are no hard feelings between them. She joined a list of other well-wishers, including Nina Dobrev, Amanda Seyfried, and Tan France to name just three.

Justin and Jen originally met in 2007, but didn't start dating until 2011. They tied the knot in 2015 and split just three years later, saying in a statement that the decision was "mutual and lovingly made." Theroux has since maintained that they remain close, telling The Times in 2024 that Aniston "is still very dear to me."

What Has Jennifer Aniston Said About The Media's Portrayal Of Her 'Not Wanting' Kids?

The Friends alum has faced intense scrutiny over the years when it comes to motherhood, with the media often portraying her as "not wanting" children or prioritizing her career over starting a family.

During her relationship with Theroux, she was repeatedly forced to shut down pregnancy rumors, which is something he publicly supported her through. He also stood by her when she later opened up about her private struggles with infertility in a deeply personal interview with Allure in 2022.

During their marriage, the We're the Millers actress addressed the narrative surrounding her body and choices. In a Huffington Post op-ed in 2016, she said: "For the record, I am not pregnant. What I am is fed up. The way I am portrayed by the media is simply a reflection of how we see and portray women in general, measured against some warped standard of beauty."

Justin praised his then-wife on Instagram at the time by calling her his 'Woman Crush Wednesday, writing, "…and this is just one reason why," and then directed followers to her powerful essay.

In the same piece, she added: "Here's where I come out on this topic: we are complete with or without a mate, with or without a child. We get to decide for ourselves what is beautiful when it comes to our bodies. That decision is ours and ours alone."

When the LolaVie mogul later revealed more about her fertility journey in a candid Allure interview in 2022 – sharing that she had tried everything to get pregnant throughout her late 30s and 40s – her candid comments were met with an outpouring of support from fans and famous friends alike. This included Justin, who left a simple but undeniably supportive response under her post: a fist bump and heart emoji.

Jennifer Aniston Says She Has 'Zero Regrets' About Not Having A Child

While the Horrible Bosses actress, who is currently dating hypnotist Jim Curtis, has since admitted that the "ship has sailed" when it comes to having children, she has made it clear she has "zero regrets" about not becoming a mom. In fact, she has spoken about feeling a sense of relief that the pressure is no longer there…

She has made some somewhat controversial comments about adoption though. On the Armchair Expert podcast in October last year, Aniston explained that she never wanted to adopt, despite the infertility, because she wanted her "own DNA in a little person."

She acknowledged that this sentiment could be seen as "selfish" by some people, and added: "When people say, 'But you can adopt,' I don't want to adopt. I want my own DNA in a little person. That's the only way, selfish or not, whatever that is, I've wanted it."
