Now that the summer is closer, so is Kid Rock’s controversial upcoming music festival, but Jelly Roll‘s latest dropout might change things.

It was recently announced that the country singer was dropping out of one of the “Rock The Country” tour stops, the infamous right-wing-leaning shows put on by Kid Rock. As he withdrew from one of the few shows he’s playing, social media started blowing up, and users couldn’t help but notice that the festival began offering tickets at lower costs. The news of Jelly Roll’s dropout didn’t come long after some fans expressed disappointment and outrage in his participation, making some believe there’s a chance he could ditch the entire thing. Jelly Roll Withdraws From "Rock The Country's" Dakota Show

Earlier this year, it was revealed that the "All Summer Long" musician was bringing the "Rock The Country" music festival-style tour to life this summer, which he co-founded alongside Shane Quick in 2024. The tour is quite a controversial one, as although its marketing purpose is to bring classic country music across the nation, due to Kid Rock's politics and more, it's been associated with Trump's MAGA movement.

Therefore, any of the artists who have signed on to perform on the tour, like Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton, Ella Langley, Brooks & Dunn, and more, are being labeled as MAGA or Trump supporters, even if some of them claim no political affiliation at the moment. The tour will stop in seven cities, from Texas to New York, with each stop consisting of a weekend-long festival-style schedule.

Fans were surprised, and many were disappointed when the "Son of a Sinner" singer, whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord, revealed he was joining the tour and headlining in a few of the cities. While some supporters immediately bought tickets to the festival to see him, others expressed they were "heartbroken" and "disappointed" in his participation. However, last week, it was revealed that he was dropping out of the Sioux Falls, South Dakota show on June 28th, and was now only performing for two weekends out of the seven.

Social Media Reacts To Jelly Roll's Withdrawal Amid Lower Ticket Sales For "Rock The Country"

After it was revealed that the "Save Me" vocalist was not going to be performing during the show's South Dakota stop, there were a lot of mixed reactions online.

The news didn't come long after the music festival started sharing posts and emails to followers and potential concert attendees that they were beginning to lower ticket prices. The festival released a statement that they were doing it due to rising transportation and fuel costs around the nation. Yet, many are convinced it could be due to a lack of ticket sales in general, and people canceling their orders after Jelly Roll and a few other artists have dropped out.

"Fuel costs are up, and we want to help!" the festival's statement read. "In response to rising transportation costs, you can enjoy up to 50% off general admission passes to any of 7 small town stops for a limited time only… Take advantage of this offer, fill up your tank, and we'll see you this summer!"

After seeing that Jason was no longer attending the South Dakota show, not only did some fans cheer him on, but others began to speculate that he might decide to ditch the tour as a whole.

"Jelly [trying] to back away from MAGA now without [getting] any stink on him," commented a Reddit user.

"When even Jelly Roll backs out of your MAGA concert, that's a bad sign," added another.

"He's jumping ship," wrote one user, as another added, "If MAGA loses Jelly Roll, what will they do?"
