Ivanka Trump made a surprise appearance on The Diary of a CEO podcast on April 8, where she became emotional while discussing her late mother, her grandmother, her husband Jared Kushner’s cancer battle, and her father, Donald Trump.
For the appearance, Ivanka wore a fitted, long-sleeve olive green mesh dress with subtle lining underneath. She styled her hair in a sleek middle part and opted for a natural makeup look.
During the conversation, she opened up about the loss of her mother, Ivana Trump.

Ivanka Trump Appears On The Diary of a CEO Podcast
“She was extraordinary. She lived a good life, though. I tell myself, with my mom, she really lived. She had fun. She taught me a lot,” Ivanka shared. The mom of three added that one of the most important lessons her mother instilled in her was “bringing intention to what you do.”
“She was very herself,” Ivanka continued. “She was very joyful and loved to dance and play—so she lived a good life.”
Ivana passed away on July 14, 2022, at the age of 73 due to accidental blunt impact injuries to her torso. She was found unconscious at the bottom of the stairs in her New York City apartment, with the New York City Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determining the injuries were the result of a fall.
“Losing a parent hits differently, especially when it’s unexpected—especially post-COVID, which robbed so many of us of so many years,” Ivanka said as she continued to get emotional during the conversation.
Ivana was a successful businesswoman and the first wife of Donald Trump. The two shared three children—Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka, and Eric Trump—before divorcing in 1992 after 15 years of marriage, following Donald’s highly publicized affair with Marla Maples, with whom he shares daughter Tiffany Trump.

Another moment where the 44-year-old opened up about personal struggles was when she discussed her husband Jared Kushner’s cancer journey.
She shared that she turned to therapy during a particularly difficult period in her life. “Some of the challenges around Jared’s health… I had just left Washington. Our life was in flux. Jared was diagnosed with thyroid cancer for a second time, and then my mother passed,” she said.
In his memoir, Kushner said he had previously battled thyroid cancer in private, undergoing surgery to remove a tumor in his throat while serving as a senior adviser during Donald Trump’s first term.
In 2022, following his time in the White House, Kushner underwent a second thyroid surgery.
