I recently went to my first friend wedding and, naturally, I wanted to wear something new. I'm 24 years old and live in New York City, so I have a budget. People recommended high-low dresses or something with a lace overlay, but that's just not me. I'm not a "girly girl," but also not super hipster. I like to look polished, put-together and minimalistic. Some of my favorite brands include rag & bone, Free People, and Reformation, so I was looking for something along those lines that was wedding-guest appropriate.

My search to find a dress that was both my aesthetic (this is my new word to describe style--get on board) and affordable was difficult, to say the least. It took many unsuccessful shopping trips to SoHo combined with three online orders gone wrong. After spending practically the entire weekend before the wedding in Bloomingdale's (I'm not kidding--it's legit all I did Saturday/Sunday), I finally found the perfect dress (see slide 2!). It checked off everything on my list. Different from what everyone else would be wearing? Check. Under $200? Check. ~*mY aEsThEtIc*~? Check!

So I decided to do some investigating into the brand that makes this magical specimen. Enter Bardot. The Australian import has so many cute styles that are made very well. My dress traveled in a backpack (long story, ugh) for five hours and had no wrinkles what so ever. Granted, it may be the material, but that's still a plus for Bardot! But the best part is most styles go for less than $200. No joke. If you're a twentysomething looking for any occasion dress (senior formal, weddings, etc.), this should be your go-to brand.
