If you’re a smartphone owner, there’s a good chance that you want your phone charged as fast as possible whenever you have to charge it.
These days, there are all sorts of charging cords, cables, and features to allow for ‘fast charging,’ which claims to get your battery charged as quickly as possible so you can spend less time waiting for your phone to fuel up before going on about your day. While it might sound intriguing, tech experts are warning against fast charging. Read more about what they had to say below.

The Dangers Of Fast Charging On Your Smartphone's Battery
For busy people who feel like they can't catch a breath throughout the day, charging your smartphone can be a real pain, as it can sometimes take a while. Therefore, it's natural to want the charging process done as quickly as possible.
On today's tech market, there are so many different chargers and products that tell smartphone users they will charge their phone 'instantly.' While it might sound like a really good thing to do for your battery, tech experts are advising against the fast charging method, stating that it can actually be worse for your battery.
"Try not to rely on fast charging all the time, as it creates more heat and uses higher voltage, which is what charges your phone quicker," explains tech pro and owner of The Big Phone store, Steven Athwal. "The extra stress wears the battery out faster, so use a standard charger most of the time and save fast charging for when you really, really need it."
To further preserve your phone and its battery, you also don't want to keep your phone plugged in for too long, as this can also overheat it.
"Everyone leaves their phone in overnight to charge because it feels convenient," adds Athwal. "People assume it's fine because the phone stops at 100%, but it doesn't just sit there; it keeps topping up all night, which strains the battery. A lot of the damage this causes can be negated with Apple's Optimised Battery Charging, or you can just unplug before you go to sleep."
