Gwyneth Paltrow has faced backlash for many of her comments over the past few years – and her latest interview has sparked more debate after she spoke about her “nepo baby” children.
In a recent interview with Savannah Guthrie on Today, the Oscar winner opened up about her children Apple Martin and Moses Martin, whom she shares with ex-husband Chris Martin, and their growing careers in entertainment. And her comments quickly divided viewers, to say the least…

Gwyneth Paltrow Talks About Her Kids On 'Today'
The Marty Supreme actress explained how daughter Apple, 22, and son Moses, 20, are following in her and the Coldplay musician's footsteps by pursuing careers in acting and music, respectively.
Apple has landed her first major role just weeks after graduating from college, and will appear in a semi-autobiographical comedy from Nancy Meyers alongside names such as Jude Law, Penélope Cruz, and Owen Wilson.

"I'm really proud of her," the Goop founder beamed on Today, adding: "It's really thrilling." The Sliding Doors alum went on to say that Moses is "signed to Interscope Records" and has an "amazing band" called People I've Met. "And he's such a nice boy," she gushed. Aww!
"It's hard. It's a difficult road. But it's worth pursuing if that's their absolute truth," Paltrow said about careers in the entertainment industry. She then revealed the most important advice she gave both her children, which is "not to read anything about themselves."

Social Media Reactions To Gwyneth Paltrow's Comments
Unsurprisingly, the interview got a huge reaction online, with many social media users pointing out the role nepotism may have played – also noting that Paltrow herself is a so-called "nepo baby" as the daughter of Blythe Danner and Bruce Paltrow.
"Nice to have connections," one Instagram user quipped. "It's not a 'difficult road' when you have incredible connections!" a second added, while a third echoed: "So her daughter got a role in a movie with ppl she worked with. Hard road."
"Her kids have her help, they will do well. Without her, doubt they will get movie roles or music record," a fourth commenter said, while a fifth asked: "Would Apple have gotten the part if not for her mom and ultimately her grandfather?"
"Just what the world needs... more nepo babies," slammed a sixth, as a seventh added: "Nepotism at its finest." "Nepo babies have zero difficulty on their road to the industry what is she talking about?" an eighth chimed in, followed by a crying-laughing emoji, while a ninth said: "Zero self-awareness."
"From one nepo baby to another... how privileged of them," a tenth quipped, alongside four eye-rolling emojis. "It was clearly given to her. Stop the nonsense," an eleventh declared, while a twelfth agreed: "Her kids have been handed everything #nepo."

Not everyone felt the same, however, as one person defended Paltrow, saying: "Any parents should try to help their kids. It is normal."
"Love Miss Apple, she is smart & beautiful! Moses is following his dreams," a second fan praised, while a third pointed out: "I think if anything they have to prove they're worth even more. Yes they have an ideal foot in the door with their connections but they have to be good as well."
"True. Just as Gwyneth had her foot in the door because of her parents but she was actually good and proved herself," replied a fourth, as a fifth noted: "Nepo is a start but their talent will show or not. So many amazing children of stars out there. Look at Juliette Lewis or Maya Hawke, Taylor Dearden, Zoë Kravitz. Love them."
