Last weekend, various celebrities and notable figures touched down in Santa Monica, California, to attend the 2026 Breakthrough Prize Awards ceremony.
Often referred to as the Academy Awards for sciences, the ceremony recognizes those who have made major achievements in science, physics, mathematics, etc. Even though it's not an entertainment industry-based event, many celebrities, from singers to actors, still attend and show up dressed to the nines. This year, the "Genie In A Bottle" singer attended and posed on the red carpet alongside her fiancé of over a decade, Matthew Rutler.
Xtina wore an eye-catching skintight black gown with a bodice made out of a leather material and a sheer, ruffled skirt. Though the off-shoulder gown definitely highlighted her killer physique, people couldn't get over the hairstyle she debuted, which was a super short blonde bob with bangs. She styled it like a 'bubble bob' for the evening, with lots of volume and rounded curls facing towards her face.

However, her new haircut, which is extremely different from her usual long, flowing blonde locks, is getting a lot of negative attention from numerous social media users.
On platforms like Reddit, users slammed the hairstyle, calling it unflattering and even comparing it to that of a famous movie character.
"It's giving Lord Farquaad," commented a user, referring to the Shrek franchise villain.
"Everything about that hair is infuriating," added another.
One user called Christina's bob "horrible," as another wrote, "Everything about that hair is infuriating."
