Whoopi Goldberg was a notable figure at this month’s New York Fashion Week events, wearing a head-turning outfit and flaunting her weight loss.
The talk show host stepped out for the Christian Siriano show as part of NYFW last week, wearing a polka-dot coat that many social media users debated whether it was chic or not. She’s opened up about her progress before, mentioning that she took the GLP-1 drug Mounjaro t to help her. Read more about her NYFW appearance and weight loss below.

Whoopi Goldberg Steps Out For NYFW In A Polka-Dot Outfit
The View host was one of many stars who stepped out in New York City over the last week to attend the final shows for this year's New York Fashion Week.
Though she didn't make many appearances at the prestigious fashion events, she did make waves at Christian Siriano's spring‑summer 2027 show on Thursday, September 10th. It was an exciting moment, as Whoopi is known for wearing rather minimalistic clothes, but instead stepped out in a figure-hugging, metallic, polka-dot coat; she also reunited with her live-action Cinderella co-star, Brandy, on the red carpet.
Her metallic gray coat with black polka dots was long and flared out at the ends, almost looking more like a dress. She paired it with a white collared shirt and charcoal pants, accessorizing with some classic black shoes. It was quite different from the usual simple, baggier outfits she prefers, and it also allowed her to show off her impressive weight loss.

Social Media Reacts To Whoopi's Outfit & Weight Loss On Social Media
The Sister Act actress has been open about using Mounjaro as part of her weight-loss journey after her weight climbed to nearly 300 pounds while filming the 2022 movie Till. She explained that she had been taking steroids while recovering from serious health complications, which contributed to the weight gain, and said the medication helped her lose a significant amount of weight. In 2024, she also said she had lost the equivalent of "almost two people" and has spoken about wanting to reduce the stigma surrounding weight-loss medications.
Now, fans of hers and other social media users are beginning to cheer her and her transformation on, especially after seeing her at New York Fashion Week.
"The legend is going to be comfortable…and always looking good," commented an Instagram user.
"She looks amazing!" added another, as an additional user wrote that "she looks fabulous."
"She has huge confidence and is herself, which is better than any garment," a fan commented, referring to her outfit. "Her character shines."
"I actually have grown to really like Whoopi's style," wrote another. "She always looks super comfortable, easy, and fun. She's winning by being her complete self."
