Melania Trump turned heads with her polished look as she stepped out for a White House Historical Association event in Washington, D.C.

On September 9, the first lady addressed historians and leaders from presidential sites across the country during the 2026 Presidential Sites Summit. She delivered her remarks from the White House Rose Garden, speaking about the importance of preserving the White House and its history.

For the appearance, the mom of one opted for a sophisticated black Dior blazer dress. The sleeveless, double-breasted design featured sharp notch lapels and Christian Dior Paris horn buttons. She paired the dress with Manolo Blahnik pumps featuring a jewel buckle.

The former model wore her highlighted honey-blonde hair in a side part with loose waves and completed her look with her signature smoky-eye makeup.

The outfit drew plenty of attention online, with fans praising her appearance in the comments of photos shared from the event.

She also highlighted several preservation and design projects associated with her work, including the White House Tennis Pavilion, renovations to the Queens’ Bedroom and Bathroom, conservation of historic Zuber wallpaper in the President’s Dining Room and the restoration of the Rose Garden.

Melania Speaks At White House Rose Garden

Melania emphasized that thoughtful design can have a purpose beyond aesthetics.

“Great design transcends aesthetic appeal; it shapes our lived experiences,” she said. “It fosters collaboration, conveys dignity, inspires ambition, and creates a sense of belonging to something larger.”

She specifically discussed the White House Tennis Pavilion, saying its design was intended to complement the historic neoclassical character of the White House grounds. According to the White House, the pavilion was completed in 2020 and later received two architectural awards.

The Presidential Sites Summit, hosted by the White House Historical Association, ran from September 8 through September 10 and brought together leaders and staff connected to presidential sites across the country.
