J.D. Vance is lashing out at Abdul El-Sayed after his racist insinuations about his family revolving around his wife, Usha Vance. After El-Sayed posted online implying J.D. Vance’s grandfather may not have been accepting of his Indian-American wife, Vance responded, addressing El-Sayed directly and calling him “very, very evil.” Keep reading for more information.

Abdul El-Sayed Attacks J.D. Vance

At a rally in Ohio on August 21, Vance addressed the crowd, talking specifically about Michigan Demicratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed. "I’d love to go back in time and tell my Papaw that there is a man who claims to stand for working people who says not only should we have Sharia law, but if you criticize it, you’re a white supremacist. That’s not my Papaw’s Democratic Party, my friends."

In response, El-Sayed took to X, posting, "So do we think JD is taking Usha with him back in time to meet Papaw, or no…" The racist implication here is what Vance and other critics took issue with: suggesting that Vance's grandfather might not have been accepting of their interracial marriage did not go down well with the vice president.

Days later, at his August 31 rally in Michigan, Vance addressed El-Sayed directly: "I realized that there’s something about Abdul El-Sayed that is very, very evil and on the rise in the United States of America today," he said.

"It’s people who see themselves not as citizens of a common nation, fighting for every single person, whether they’re Jewish or Christian, whether they’re white or Black or brown, but see themselves as fighting for one group at the expense of others," he continued.

"Whatever you want to talk about, Abdul, keep my wife’s name the hell out of your mouth because she’s way out of your league," he added.

Abdul El-Sayed's Past Comments About Usha Vance

This isn't the first time El-Sayed has targeted J.D. Vance through comments about his wife. Back in April during an appearance on The Allen Analysis Show, El-Sayed made jokes about Usha and J.D.'s marriage. "What do you think is going through Usha's head when he talks? She's like, 'Damn, I have to sleep with him,'" El-Sayed said to host Brian Allen.

He then discussed their children, saying, "Can you imagine, he's got brown kids, at some point he’s going to have a really awkward conversation with his kids, like, you made your career hating people who are different."

"I love my brown kids," he added. "And I think my brown kids are just as American as everyone else."
