Lidl US has issued a recall on shortbread cookies due to undisclosed ingredients that could be life-threatening to people with allergies.

Eridanous Cookies Recalled for Undisclosed Allergens
A sweet treat is a luxury many of us like to keep stocked for those moments when cravings strike. But for people with allergies and food sensitivities, the cookie options are a bit more limited. In this case, individuals who are allergic to wheat, soy, milk, or eggs should steer clear of Eridanous Shortbread Cookies with Chocolate Truffle Coating & Apricot Filling sold at Lidl US stores.
These cookies were sold in 11.6-ounce boxes and packaged with foreign-language labeling that failed to include English ingredients, nutrition facts, or allergens—which means that they could have been unknowingly purchased by people who are allergic to some of the ingredients they contain.
The undeclared allergens include wheat, soy, milk, and eggs, which could cause life-threatening allergic reactions.
The recalled products are labeled with UPC 4056489125839, and were distributed to Lidl stores in Delaware, the District of Columbia, Georgia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Virginia between July 15 and July 22.
Luckily, Lidl says no illnesses have been reported. However, if you purchased these cookies and you or someone in your household is allergic to any of the undisclosed ingredients, you should throw away the product or return it for a full refund.
